You can claim it's random if you wish, it is not. There are many mechanisms there that make it 'less random', locking things or in my case, I do both, so my 'random' deck is actually feeding me 4 specific spells in certain slots, while I have the important ones locked (or ones with super fast cooldown).

Those 4 spells are also chosen to assist each other, for example discharge is a great way to lead into earth quake.. ;) Be smart about building it, and you will have a better time with it. Experiment.

I wear a water cloak, lords cloak, Knights cloak, Lords helm, knights helm, or sword of Ba'Heer depending on how pretty I wanna look.

You're using too many spells if this is the case. 3 attacks a few buffs and a heal or life-transfer spell.

You should always have an attack up, a heal on the ready and buffs going.

I don't see what the big deal is. Just lock your deck and never look at random gyphs again.

Rip it up by the roots, burn it, then poison the dirt in case a bulb remains.

I've never had 20-30 active skills. I don't really understand how 10 slots = goodbye to millions of dollars, I had 6 slots in D3, a game that was pretty much only about combat and managed just fine. You had to make choices despite having a much wider range of skills that you paid cash for the game itself and yet didn't have all skills at your fingertips when needed.

I don't love the combat, but you're criticizing having to make choices in which skills you use. And the rest of what you type invites people to counter you, it's pretty hard to agree with the wide strokes you paint.

I have succeeded with a deck consisting of over 60 glyphs, 36 is what i'm currently running though as i simply do not need the variety that the sixty card build required.

Since there are no classes, no limit on hot keys would mean every single person could have at least lvl 10 of every single skill available to use at all times.

Limitations encourage specialization. And like others said the system is only random if you don't assign anything to any slots. I have never just let it sort them all randomly for me.

Just like I told you over a year ago I very much prefer the dealt deck system over any fixed slots.
Simply because it provides more variety and as such prevents boredom.

One can play around with nuances or just add something "for fun" which isn't as feasable with fixed slots.

The intention of the system was to make the UI unpredictable. Side effect? The player ends up fighting the UI, rather than fighting the monster.
    Yet..
Every implementation that people actually use is exactly the opposite, making the UI predictable, so you're not fighting the UI, you're fighting the monster.

IF they just want 'groups' of abilities in customized slots, there's no reason to use the deck system at all.

I don't mind the deck system so much, but I do despise and would like them scrap the slugs part of it. I have to put skills in my deck that I never use to get rid of them.

what bugs me is, if one can lock it, then why not just let us drag them out onto our screen... were all accustomed to it, even it werked great. Even had Pinko's which stood on that concept and enhanced it. as it is; it is cumbersome to switch decks as the spawn area's change. its not my biggest peeve, but I do think about how it could be better as I am training. but obviously I am bias. ;)

I thought we can drag and drop the glyph now as of R29 as a locked glyph.

When I swapped from a fixed deck to a random draw deck with only 1-2 slugs my combat efficiency went way up.

Of course if people want to stick with a fixed hotbar they can still do that too. The choice is yours folks! :)
