uncompletable quest with cugel and stanley?

    I've ALMOST got my quest journal emptied out. But there's one left, and i have no clue how to proceed. The task itself doesn't seem to give any hints about next steps.

    I've talked to both cugel in ardoris and stanley in soltown, but no luck.

    Any ideas?

    Try going back to Stanley in Soltown and try some keywords on him.

    It's a good thought. I actually tried it last night. Did every word and phrase i could think of. clicked every conversation link. Got nothing from him, unfortunately.

    @Feldon Grimshaw , after a quick check I see that's a super-old journal entry that was meant to echo a conversation activity and was never meant to be in your active journal. Nowadays, you get a message in your chat saying things like "Cugel took my report from Stanley" but before we had that feature some of the oldest quests gave you a journal entry like that. I added it as issue #66962 and will set up some way for it to clear itself.

    Not for long! Mwa-ha-ha! I'm adding a new quest in this next release. Players can probably test it now on the QA server. (Hint: Go to Far Hinterlands and look for an "Unusual Doe.")

    @Sannio , I still have that darned Learn Qunicy's Fate quest yet in my book. Since Emily is also in Soltown, can you please look at this one once again?

    The quest text is: Learn Quincy's Fate - I spoke to a refugee named Emily in Soltown. She asked me to search Solace Bridge for a sign of the fate of her beloved Quincy.

    I tried every word that was on below the conversation box. I knew you have tried to fix this once before. Is there a way to just say clear to Emily and have it mark this quest complete?

    Depending on your quest flags/state, you should be able to say "Quincy" to Emily and have the task clear. Let me ask you a few questions and that'll help me figure out
    1. When you say "hello" to Emily, what does she say in reply?
    2. When you say "Quincy" to Emily, what does she say in reply?
    3. When you say "help" to Emily, what does she say in reply?
    Each of those replies is set up slightly differently, so if one in particular clears your task, please let me know and I'll set up the other replies in a similar fashion.

    This is what Emily says:

    1. When you say "hello" to Emily, what does she say in reply? - Is that so? All anyone can talk about these days is the threat of the undead.
    2. When you say "Quincy" to Emily, what does she say in reply? - Interesting... I don't know. Perhaps you meant this? All anyone can talk about these days is the threat of the undead.
    3. When you say "help" to Emily, what does she say in reply? - Thank you, Greagoir Pendragon, I need nothing else.
    None of these keywords clears up the task in my current tasks list. Got the sword and cleared the quest.

    BINGO! Thank you @Anpu! I retrieved the broken sword from Solace Bridge off a body and just talked with Emily, the item give pop up popped up and the quest is finally complete.

    @Sannio nothing for you to do now. Quest is cleared. :) Keep the good work you are doing.
