Not everyone reads the forums you know. Most of these "big guilds" and their leaders probably are busy playing the game.

There are a few larger guilds here already. I've seen a few wandering around.

In my opinion the largest guilds of active players right now are probably Havoc and Moongate Travelers. Other active and/or large guilds are EVL, Phoenix Republic, Memento Mori, Order of Vengeance, Jade Dragons and LOTC.

Other guilds of interest: Furia (Spanish), Guardians Du Lys (French), Heroldowie Swaroga (Polish)

I will have to disagree with you on this one. We get new members all the time and most are new players. We show them the ropes, take them on XP runs and help them get adjusted to the game. Yes you can run stuff solo, but it always faster and more fun with groups. :)

I love my guild and can't imagine playing solo.

I need company with my murder and mayhem.

Drachvald has 3 german guilds of ~ 10-20 active members each (+ 10-20 inactive members I would guess).

It's too easy to get lost in a big guild. I like smaller and focused groups with longevity. More people - more politics - more drama. :)

What I like about SotA guilds is how different they all are. Many guilds are "major players" in their own way, and it has nothing to do with their overall size - what matters is the handful of their most active members. Those are the people who make a difference. If you spend enough time in SotA you will get to know the various guilds, and what they do. There is plenty of choice for those who are prepared to take their time and investigate.

It's good you differentiate between active and large, it's not the size of the guild it's how you use it ;).

But seriously in my experience guilds that recruit for numbers tend to have a ton of drama, and break apart in some spectacular manner. Thats why even in the very early days of LOTC we never advertise or actively recruite people, we don't care much about numbers. For us Its more about quality then quantity.

It's been my experience that in MGT we're too lazy to have much drama. Either way I would advise staying because @Dinsoo doesn't eat guild members! It's nice to run around flagged but having guildies that just want to chill is fun too. Lots of guilds have really cool people in them. I really hope that Portalarium gets some sort of alliance system worked out.

Couple thoughts, havoc is about 300 atm 40-50 on during peak times. not sure that makes us a major player MGT is an epic guild with epic people that does higher end content(whats there is of it), Order of the magi has the highest level people if thats important.. owl has made a name for themselves as the pk guild leader imop. EVL has the most dance parties and hosts the virtue league, mainly a entertainment/social guild. Bmc an old guild from the uo days has alot of street cred and the devs ears ;).

Agree with this, 100%. Unless you're wanting to RP and/or have a lot of casual chit chat while you play, there's not a whole lot of reasons to be in a guild in SotA.

Exception to that would be having groups to grind control points or the rise. But 105 gms might not be everyones things to achieve.

GMs are a burden. They need constant feeding.

Good point. You need groups to do that stuff and a guild might be an easy way to get a group. Not the only way of course, so a guild still isn't "needed" in that sense, but might smooth the way.

There are faster ways to do that and you necessarily don't need to be in a guild for that.
