What is the real purpose of PvP Zones?

    You can pvp in it without restriction.

    If you have a resource you get in a PVP zone only, then you have a monopoly on an item...those that don't PVP are at a disadvantage. How do you not see that?

    Choke point (by definition) means somewhere you HAVE to go through to get somewhere (like port road god damit, stupid Adelaide road network), therefore if there are PvP choke points (rather than story based ones) you are limiting access to everyone unless they play one play style, therefore a LIE, and therefore false advertising

    Right, PvE AI can be pretty tough, maybe even take a guild raid to get the resources. Would be great for a role play guild that does not believe in all the non role play combat that one typically sees in pvp zones.

    By that reasoning it's no different than any other zone so there's no point in having them.

    Oh I see that. I see that as a PVE problem.

    It's just like if you don't kill the big boss you're at a disadvantage from the PVE players that do and get the shiny sword of loot whatever. So if you can't get that sword yourself, how do you work around that?

    You hire someone to get it for you, you go in a group, you buy it from the market.

    No difference, it's just a different end boss.

    There could be multiple choke points, and there are on the map. They're not all pvp, so take the long way around if you don't want to risk pvp.

    The only difference is most pvpers also PVE.

    I get it it's is better for you to have a resource worth more.

    The hope would be that pvp would be more integrated with roleplay as we make it more meaningful.

    The purpose of PvP zones is to give players who choose to PvP a pre-determined consensual environment to do so.

    I would love that to be true, but you and me know that the majority of people that hardcore pvp do not role play. I would be like "egad! I am dying Heal me!" and they would be like, "here let me take a crap on your face".

    Listen guy's we all knew that there was going to be pvp....... So why the heck is having a PVP zone so dang bothersome to you???? I know PvE wants the whole map without having to pvp but that story is like a gold coin " it has two sides." Believe me when I say there are alot of PK's that would love to have the whole map PVP. So let's see this from both sides and consider your self lucky that there isn't more pvp zones. In reality I would very much guess that there are more than just 5% pro PvP and I very seriously doubt that shardfall is the equivalent to 5% of the world map combined. Because from what all I have heard is this game will be huge so maybe it will be more like .5% of the map so I have to agree that PvP is getting the short end of the stick here.
