What type of gamer are you (according to the Bartle Test)?

    So I've been seeing that some folks have never heard of the Bartle Test.

    It is a series of questions that are scored to classify players of multiplayer online games (including MUDs and MMORPGs) into categories based on their gaming preferences. The categories are Killers, Achievers, Socializers and Explorers. Obviously this isn't a definitive description of every gamer, but it's a good measure.

    Take the test and post your results! I'm sure some of us already know what we are, but it'll be fun.

    I ended up as an Explorer Killer:

    Explorer 67%, Killer 53%, Socializer 53%, Achiever 27%

    Makes perfect sense for me... Always nomadic with equal parts Killer and Socializer. It's tough being a merchant in these trying times!

    Took it a second time, some new questions, some the same, much different results

    Killer
    killer 80%, achiever 53%, socializer 33%, explorer 33%.

    Killer Achiever dominant, but it depends on the questions posed.

    Don't agree with my 40% killer, I will never attack another player unless they attack me first.

    I did it with Chrome, no problem. You start the test in the top right corner of the page.

    93% Explorer, 60% Socializer, 47% Achiever, 0% Killer.
    Which makes it easy to see why I'm so against forced PvP :)
    (And why I want to be able to access all the PvE content; seeing it all is my main drive in about every game I play :p )

    100% Explorer, 53% Achiever, 33% Socializer, 20% Killer
    Very accurate results, so you can see why I'm not into PvP ;)

    Although I do PVP (and have often and liked it) this shows my non-competitive, non-vindictive nature. :) However, this is more indicative of me and not of characters I have played.

    When I first took the test years ago, I got Killer. When I took it just a moment ago, I got Socializer. What's the point in combat if you can't have a good laugh about it anyway?

    Killer in the Bartle archetypes isn't really about PvP, but about imposing your will over others. Thus, it has little relationship with fully consensual PvP per see; someone that loves consensual PvP, but plays it more for the fun than for beating his opponents, might actually score low on the Killer archetype.

    (The Killer archetype, on the other hand, is deeply linked to PK behavior, and non-consensual PvP in general. Non-consensual PvP, after all, is about forcing other players to engage in the combat, whether they want it or not; in other words, imposing one's will to engage in combat over other players.)

    I would say this is pretty accurate, though I found that I did not quite fit some of the either/or situations, particularly when it comes to being competitive, which I am not, either in gaming or in RL.

    We have quite a bit of Explorers... tbh I kind of expected that but wow! Think I should have added a poll to keep track of how many of what but scrolling is easy enough.

    Now I know the dungeons/areas I am/will work on will fit right in with the folks that really want to explore them. Keep those test results coming!

    67% achiever, 53% explorer, 47% socializer, and 33% killer.

    Results seem fairly accurate to me. Now I want all my friends to take it! Thanks for sharing.

    Social -33% I'm not quite sure how to take that.
    Competitive -66%
    Friend Oriented -21%?? Who comes up with this stuff?

    How do I get 33% social with Friend and Social in the negatives? :p
