Where is PVP ?

    Sounds like this game just isn't for you then, PvP is there you can attack ANY payer tagged for it or you can enter the Shardfalls, areans, or any POTs that are PvP and see if anyone else is in there.

    But again if all you want to do is Attack other players, that is NOT what this game is about :-( Sorry

    Unfortunately there is no PVP on SotA at the moment...there are people that complain about that...but the majority of people just do not play any more....Someone like me still have a bit of hope things will get better but really if we should judge by facts alone we should just quit once and for all..

    Too small a population during testing phase.
    Since the PvP crowd hasn't reached critical mass there is very little PvP to be had outside of organized ones.

    Now there is a lot of PvP specific content promised but so far the only three feature sets are
    PvP flag - enabling consensual PvP anywhere
    Shardfalls - PvP only areas with abundant resources (which can be bypassed/exploited from single player, so not implemented fully yet)
    PvP player towns.

    But if you do a search on the Portalarium Austin YouTube channel you will find some really cool plans for PvP. But we just don't see it in the game yet.
    So I'd say if you don't want to rage quit then do something else for a couple of months and come back and try it again later.

    LoL why does PvP need the ability to loot?

    If the loot is junk (as it will be) because no one is going to risk high end stuff, what is next?

    More adjustments to make it "worth while" to go into PvP areas?

    This road is a Slippery down hill slope that can and will result in "Tramm / Fel" issues, and we al know what is at the end of that road.

    If you take a simple math and look at # PvP towns, and not, it is 10%ish??? How do you think this game will survive catering to 10% of the populace and alienating the rest?

    Again, the Reward for PvPing is the ability to fight an intelligent adversary NOT Loot or resources :-(

    I know a lot of the PvPers don't agree, but that is a number even less than 10%. I know they are some of the loudest here but numbers do not lie :-(

    Enjoy a good fight every once in a while, enjoy the ability to lord you victory over you opponent, enjoy a good death :)

    Because it makes it more meaningful........asking that kind of question to me is as strange as asking "why does PvE need loot?".

    What is high end to one person is low end to another. We are dealing with player made items here which are replaceable. In addition to that, I'm yet to see the game go down path of being gear driven to the extent that UO became.

    It should always be worth while going to a PvP area.....risk vs reward.

    The slippery slope wasn't Fel/Tram......the slippery slope was when they started to Trammify Fel to make it easier for Tramillites to go there.



    Could argue that 10% may not be great enough due to the very nature of PvPers. Could argue that the non-PvP towns could end up being under-populated.

    You could be right......but the truth is that many PvPers haven't even moved over to the game yet......a lot are sitting on the fence watching to see what it is going to be like.

    If SotA fails with PvP you will be correct..........if SotA succeeds then you will be wrong.


    You don't PvP though.......you should ask a real PvPer/PK instead of assuming this kind if thing.


    The PvPers haven't even arrived in game yet........and no you won't find many on the forums.

    I know several gamers in Mortal Online who think ahead on SotA at launch. In fact, all the people and guilds that I know are not present in the pre-alpha. They wait to see PvP at launch.

    Yeah ok you don't like pvp. We know it.
    That's cool. But do you have to pop up in every pvp post and say the same?
    It's not your cup of tea, great. And the game you want isn't the cup of tea for most pvpers. Score settled.

    It is ok for pvp to be considered. I am not a pvp player but I wish them well, it is an aspect of the game that needs to be fleshed out just like any other system. Sota will have pvp, perhaps different, perhaps we will have some interesting twists to pvp, but we wont know unless it is fleshed out. Just imho.;)
