Where is the guide in the Shuttered Eye tower?

I ran back up, then ran all the way down, pretty much unscathed and in full health. I have some light armor skills, so that might have helped. When I exited the tower, skeletons were coming to surround me, and I was prepared to fight them off. But the game was a bit bugged and had problems moving. (no spiders to root me or anything, just buggy). So then, I died.

 

I still do not know where the outside tour guide is located...

EDIT: Ha... got him... keep to the left over a wooden bridge then left towards the border... it is kind of a cave above ground level you need to enter!

I could fight my way to the top in leather armor with maple bindings and a pair of swords, but the lich was a no go lol.
