Hi all, I'm AL97 and looking for areas to farm XP and gold. I usually play in SPO mode as I usually farm ores. Which scenes would you recommend that gives the best XP and gold /hr?
I'm 2H-blades and heavy armor user.

It's not common to get both XP and gold at an optimal rate. I would try Deep Ravenswood in The Hidden Vale.

I would say these are the best when I solo. I’m lvl 92 2h blunt.
Forest Sieges, Kobold camp, Grannus Colossus, Wyrm Sands, The Rise, K’rul, Verdantis Shardfall

The rise is my go-to for loot and xp
The fall is my choice for xp. The PvP keeps it from getting too boring.

Is the rise / the fall solo-friendly?

Sorry all I can do is laugh - End game 2 weeks before "launch"

Yeah the Rise Is Solo friendly but you have to be smart since you can be overwhelmed.

For loot AND Exp you have to kill humanoid types.

Control points are a nog go since you have to be a group to do it well and then there is not loot since there is not time.

Sieges are good just leave if you cannot take the cabalist.
    Then Krawl
    Rise

Fall is a No go since it is PvP which means multi player, but if you can handle the miniscule risk it will work.

What is so funny is here is another player actually trying to "Play" the game but has already reached a point where they either min/max for exp or min/max for loot and has to work even harder to find out where the balance is worth it.

    LMAO - ITYS

It's not endgame. I achieved adventure level 100 in 4 months. Endgame is control points. As of right now.

Have any of you been to Lost Vale yet? I mean the ones complaining about endgame. Yes, it works a lot like control points, but it isn't control points.

The best gold in an MMO is always made on the first month or two of whatever new thing just got added. Either before others figure it out, before others get tired of it, or before it gets nerfed.

And I don't think we are an endgame type of game anyway but yes there is higher level content and areas. There is always a chance to step up your game in the ways that you personally find fun. There is also an opportunity to find your niche and your own individual challenge. The sky's the limit with more coming as the months roll by.

Lately I have been going to Grannus Colossus but usually in a group of two or three since I love to hang out with a special friend quite often. Having fun chats can make the time go by just like that. If you are newer and haven't met many players yet beware one day perhaps that one or more players might come by who click with you. Sure alone time is great at times but when you meet others who are so in sync in the way you like to play and so fun that you find yourself laughing with them now that is really awesome too. It takes a while to get acclimated imo to all there is to do in this game.

@disynthetic If you made it to AL 100 in 4 months, then I'm sure you realize you are NOT anywhere near the average player.

You either had a bit of help (what to do, where to do it, help with armor, party'd for xp's, etc..) or you fall into the top 5% of MinMaxers.
The vast majority of players will NOT reach level 100 in 4 months (especially since we have the death penalty), so you are an outlier .

    Just sayin..........;)

    Its kind of either/or really.
Some zones are better money, some zones are better xp, some zones are better producer xp.
There's also the question if you want instant money (ie vendorable items) or if you have a vendor to sell resources/commodities.

    Exclusions:
    • Boss loot is pretty crappy; unless you can steamroll them (ie kill it a dozen times or more per hour while flip flopping modes to get more kills in or going back and forth between two bosses) its not lucrative, or consistent, and relies on being able to offload whatever drops you get in a pretty saturated market. Up to you to decide if you get enough loot in an hour to be worth the time.
    • Zones like the Rise / Krul with the higher tier mobs will occasionally drop better stuff, but the reality is that unless you are getting lucky the higher tier mobs are dropping the same value in stuff as their t5 equivalents. Quite often, the value of the vendorable items in these zones is actually WORSE. From a pure cash perspective, you're probably better off massacring T5.

I know you specified T5, but you can make better "pure gold gain" doing bulk lower level content. Because even the mobs in soltown catacombs which have <100 hp and can be 1-shot drop the same 10-25 gold per kill, and a crappy weapon to sell. Their crappier weapons aren't worth as much as the slightly less crappy weapons in other zones, but at your level you can clear the entire place out in probably <2 minutes and get about 1000 gold for your efforts. Obviously its too small a zone and respawn is too slow to do that constantly but its just an example.

To maximize profits find the zone whose respawn keeps up with your kill speed so you're always killing and looting -something-. Humanoid/undead always drop gold, and undead always drop corpse wax which can be sold for gold. Some mobs still drop weapons every time, many have been changed to only drop rarely; this varies zone by zone. Cleaning out something like tower of the shuttered eye or crypt of the avatar - which have a lot of skeletons with a good density get you a lot of 'sellable junk'. Sieges are good for this too, lots of mobs, fast respawns, bonus wood. Bonus cabalist loot if you can kill cabalist -though they fall into the "boss loot is crappy" exclusion above - I cleared sieges for 6 hours tonight and got a single pair of cabalist boots. So don't hold your breath.

Personally I prefer a good balance of xp income with decent cash; any of the t5 'foothills' zones are good for this.

I certainly wasn't suggesting that anyone should be able to match my experience with ALVL 100 in 4 months. What I meant to say is that it can be done. I was unemployed at the time, essentially putting my normal work hours into a game.

I just wanted it to be known what was possible.

You're right.... it is possible - with the right knowledge of the game and/or the right friends - and lots of spare time.
And my response was simply to clarify that what you attained is not the norm, that's all....... ;)

Was that before the 1M/hour cap? If so, it is even less possible now. In any case, I've been playing regularly since persistence and am AL84/PL80 now.

At AL 100 you will be hard pressed to do 1 million xp / hour solo. At that level I spent a lot of time in the Rise. You can get decent loot, and a lot of yellow bundles by doing the Mage room, barracks & kitchen. Haven't done it in a while, but when I did I was making about 5-600k xp /hr

I used to do monkey room for xp, about 900k xp an hour. This actually cost me gold and was pretty boring. I would do the Rise for gold and xp. That was about 500k to 600k an hour but a ton of earning potential. Before I could do those areas, I was doing the undead hill in DR for about 300k xp/hr and 10k gold/hr. I believe they nerfed the weapons there.
