    hahaha

and at that, the wolves all have one eerie howl. its not very wolf like, more like creepy ghosts are chasing me.

@Gairloch youre probably experiencing the bug where sounds are heard far away from their point of origin.

I notice this a lot fighting skeletons in the Spectral Foothills. Especially in the area with the ore nodes and lich spawns, and the narrow pass leading to there.
Sometimes they make wolf noises, and human(bandit?) noises as well.

Yes, it sounds kinda like a V1 rocket dropping down onto London. It would make a better sound if it was something off in the distance(and lower volume of course). Close up it doesn't sound right at all.

For me it only occurs in the midst of battle. As if the wrong creature sound gets switched in instead of the sound that is supposed to be played.

Although in another area of Spectral Foothills(the circular path with skellies and sometimes zombies) I always hear a bear at one point when there is
never any bears anywhere near there. It is the more ambient bear sound as opposed to the battle sounds which gets mixed up in that other area I mentioned.

OK. I can calm down now --- I swear I was fighting a wolf in Twins Foothills with no humanoids around whatsoever, and heard the wolf going "Heh-heh" before the fight. 8-0

I think the wolves sound like the witch in Left 4 Dead. "How do you turn this flashlight off?" I think to myself.

Sounds are still pretty hit or miss. They didn't get their sound guy until fairly recent they have come a long way though since but still much further to go.
