    Hello Fellow Avatars,
I'm looking for advice for a beginner lumberjack. Are there good locations that do not require much combat?

Good Question Iam also wondering . Would be a good idea if we had kind of a list/map on where to harvest what . Also best beginner spots.

The easiest location I've found so far is North Valeway in the Hidden Vale. Not overrun with trees, but only a one skull area, and much easier to survive.

o_O~Dear Portalarium Oracle, Please Inspire Less Battle Tech and More Craftsman Tech~
I heard the "professional Lumberjack" mentioned and I got all choked up when thinking about those Tic Tac Toe X's & O's that are now above my immortal head... :(
They are like the giant mole on a face where the beauty of scenic immersion and crafting professions once held one's captivating thoughts...

Trees aren't disappearing when they fall and hindering the scenery from a restricted forestation. Special trees should be in monster spawn areas, while normal resources should have a place in new wilderness areas designed for our bulk of what's needed.
Places for Lumberjacking? Chop that tic tac toe mole off our face and place chop-able trees in our Add-On Store for POT's...

I'm just trying to touch upon the real subject here that distracts from other development's needs... while our scenic immersion for other professions is discarded for the needs of the battle sight tech in high powered combat scopes... We way waste to the rest of our game, as if a forgotten rain forest, forgotten because it's not there or regarded as much anymore...

Newbie areas could use expanding to help fill this need of more common recourses, bringing more skilled player closer to our newcomers...
Our development has become narrow minded, when we add weapon's sights while ignoring trees that have been harvested and shouldn't still be there. They should be gone, taken away by the lumberjack, yet they remain?
Our focus within our game has been taken away to the broader issues indeed when such simple things have not been fixed while high tech weaponry continues to be added.

I don't think it's a one-skull area, but it's maybe 2/3 skull? IIRC, north celestial wetlands. Lots of trees, last time I was there.

The easiest place to chop wood is the scene where Sandy Chapman the traveling merchant is.

To get there run along the east Perinnel Trail on the grass and if you are lucky you will see something on the side of the road and bam!

Either you will see Sandy's scene or if you are not lucky you will be in a more difficult scene with Wolves or the undead.

Roll the dice and see what you get! ;)

NOOOOOOOOO! Don't tell people where to find the trees. There all mine to harvest!!!!!

I usually find the best tree gathering to be swamps...no not swamps. I meant to say deserts. Yes desert scenes have plenty of trees. Go look there.:p

In all seriousness though I find swamps to be best place to gather wood. So find a low level swamp and enjoy.

Between Aeri and Red river, 2 wetlands, 1 skull and 2 skull. Plenty of trees. Mostly caiman and wolfs. East and south longfall wetlands

I was wondering, there was talk about certain areas will be rich in one resources and scares on another. Now this could very well be important point when it comes to your final selection of lot placement. Just think you are a lumberjack and find your lot is in an area which only grows cotton. Yes one would say "jolly good now we are talking trading" hmmm that is very good but do you want to trade or travel afar for every piece of wood you need. So yes this maybe become an important choice when placing your home.

Honestly, I've been using Kingsroad too for multiple resource gathering - trees, cotton, ore, hides, reagents - one stop shopping. I gather for a bit and then move on to other adventures.

We probably need a list for each region what resources can be found in their 1 skull scenes. After all at a new player going thru passes will be challenging

I would be glad to contribute to said list... once all of the scenes are closer to a finished state. It'd be a shame to spend 200 hours exploring scenes, mapping out node locations etc. just to have it all drastically changed during the next release cycle.

Best scene for lumberjacking is Verdantis Shardfall, no other place even close by ammount of logs, but it is pvp zone with obsidian golems.

Throughout my adventuring Kingsroad and South Valeway are great in the Vale. When in Novia Mariah's Outlook is good...there are lots of resources there. Once you make the initial patrol through...rinse and repeat. Can spend hours in there if you dont mind the snow on the ground.

I get my trees in Verdantis Shardfall.
If you stay away from the mountain in the middle and work the area between the base of the mountain and the outer edge you can get a fair number of trees with very little combat. (maybe 1 fight every 2 or 3 circuits if you watch where your going)
If you pick cotton and Trees at the same time, they will always be respawned by the time you make it back to the start.
The open nature makes the trees easy to spot, but the Obsidian Golems do look a bit like cotton if the light hits them right.
