Wooden Storage Chest

Alright... after spending most of the day looking on all NPC's... where did these Wooden Storage Chest go?!?!

Please advise on a NPC that sells these now since its no longer on the NPC in the past.

And this same approach applies to basic armor and weapons / food /etc.?
Whats the reason for this, trying to understand and where was this mentioned at?

It would be detrimental to the player-run economy if the NPCs were able to compete with identical products, so most goods sold by NPCs are either non-player-craftable or cash-draining fuels.

Since players can create and sell wooden chests themselves, there is no reason for the NPC merchants to do so as well.

I can make you some for a price, trying to make some money as it is a slow moving process at the moment.

 

Player Generated Economy as was the design of the game all along all we had before was for testing

They actually left to much junk on vendors as it is :-(

 

I was able to purchase 5 of them from the merchant in Soltown, during the first release of R32. That might have changed with a recent patch.

 

What is the going rate for wooden storage chests I paid 600-800 per chest when I was searching for them

 

You can also craft a 'trunk' which is the same item, effectively, with a different appearance and doesn't require the expensive mechanism.

There's someone in Fortus End who sells them for 400 gold in his vendor there. Alternatively: Crafting "Trunks" is easier than Chests and has the same storage functionality (at least that's what it looks like to me).

 

I'm currently selling some Wooden Storage Chests for 400 gold in Spite. My house is behind the bank.

Repair kits need to be removed from vendors at some point. Either that or reduce the amount of resources used to make them. Or both.

ie Crafted takes 2 leather and 3 ingots vrs 100 gold price at NPC vendors. I have plenty of spare resources and would never think about wasting time/resource making them.

 

Yeah, based on the expected value of ore/wood/leather/cloth/time/etc, the last time I checked, the repair kit recipes would need to produce a quantity of 10 per combine to be 'worth it'.
Until that's done, it would be better if the vendors continued selling them.
