    Quenton utters the word "Solis"

This is such a bizarre way to show that the player is casting a spell using words of power. In the chat log? Seriously, c'mon!

Why aren't these above the player's head like a regular line of local chat text? Surely this must've been your first option.

Wow, this is the first time I'd seen them. I must've had certain chat options disabled in the chat window.

This is a good point and I'll see if it can be added.

Since I usually have combat text filtered out, I noticed it and then promptly forgot about it. There's just too much crap scrolling by too fast for combat text to be useful to me, and by happy coincidence, it filters this too. I'm usually on a chat tab with NPC chat and Misc filtered out as well.

I think it's rather silly, but I'm not against it being there. It is distracting fluff that I would turn off, as I already do with background music.

Is that what it means? I have no idea how I was supposed to guess that form the word "logos". I thought it must have been something that came from Discord. I also don't recall anything about that highlighted as a change in the player instructions.

    Why is there no sound?

Avatar should be speaking them audibly

I can still remember the spells from Baldur's Gate.

Ok i really like that word of power was being added overhead in the game. There is 3 thing about it i dont like tought. And i think those are important to get the same feeling as we had back in ultima online while casting spell.

    1. The word themself have no significant meaning. Example, in ultima online each word had a signification. Mani was abundance, while An was negative, poison was Nox etc. Those word was strangely coinciding in something people already knew in top of their head. We could associate the word by guess or approximatly give an idea of a meaning. Right now the word in SOTA have 0 sense. Not only the word are not comparable to anything i know of any languages but they arent even in the game anywhere (or maybe i missed those somewhere i dunnoh). But don tget me wrong they arent all bad, i like the Zeph Motus for dash. But like Xen-Terra for strength of earth... Terra is good, Xen was creature meaning in uo... Anyway i think this part need a little rework. Maybe put a bunch of word in a box and let all the team decide on which word should go where without asking advice and the most word for each skill should be taken in consideration.

    2. The speed of the displayed text over head is too slow. Each time a spell is cast it should already pop overhead and overwrite the old one.

    3. The damn - between words. Its useless and doesnt look good. Looks like more of writtens word than word of power said by your character.

Agree with @devilcult - especially with #2 above -- the rate at which spells are cast, you still have words of power appearing for a minute straight for all the spells you've cast, long after you're done casting..

And i would add that instead of writting simple text, id turn it into runic. Now that would be epic.

That would make a good option, either or. Some people would like to read it in English characters, others in Runic (or whatever it is called). @Lum the Mad please consider this.

I can't stand the words of power overhead, big blocky letters... :(

    Suggestions:
1.) Allow me to turn it off, it's distracting and something, something about mah immersion...
2.) Since it's nonsense anyways write it in Runic, at least it will look cooler ...
3.) Like the classic dungeon master, allow some quest objectives so be solved by using words of power. (so that it has some purpose)

Oh no! The Good Idea Fairy has visited Shroud of the Avatar. At best, this feature should be turned off by default. Hiding the toggle switch under "logos" in the chat bubble is opaque. A few LARPers will enjoy the option, but it is distracting in multi-player. @Lum the Mad, are y'all trolling the players with this one?

The words appearing above my head are really annoying.

A toggle please, oh and can they be in a different colour so we know what are names and what are words of power please? Yellow perhaps?

@Lord British came up with them and each does in fact have a meaning. Just because it's not the same as UO doesn't mean it's meaningless.

Turning off "chat bubbles" in options will disable this as well.
