[Workaround inside] 600 Elysium Mines: Lighting/fog issue

    Title: Elysium Mines: Lighting/fog issue
    Reproduction Rate: 100% (3/3)
    Blocker? No
    Details: Entering the Elysium Mines on my computer puts a white foggy aberration all through the scene. Problem hasn't affected any other scenes so far, which look perfectly normal. I have tried turning graphics settings to 'fastest', and disabled bloom, volumetric lighting, camera effects, and everything else in the graphics settings. Restarted the client, and no improvement.

    Steps to Reproduce: Enter the Elysium Mines.
    User Specs:
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (8) System RAM: 8052
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU RAM: 2018 / GeForce driver 385.41

    Possible culprit in the /debug window as an error:
    GetPixels32 failed: insufficent pixel buffer size (4), must be at least 4 x 4

    Yes, same issue with the brightness it is too high to see.

    I actually fixed this on mine, if you go into the video settings and change the quality level preset it will fix it, you can then go change it back and the fix stays applied

    Looks like it has to do with volumetric lighting and shadows. If you turn shadow distance to something other than None, and then load into the scene, it should be ok. Or, change it back and forth between none and something else while you are in there, and that should also fix it, like Scoffer said. We'll try and work on a fix, made bug #53886

    @BurningToad Ok setting the shadow distance from none to low worked for me. Yay I can see or is it 'let there be light' ;)


    I am there and still loads with the fog and inability to see. I will try fixes mentioned.

    Stickying for better visibility...until the 'white screen' is fixed in Elysium Mines, please follow Burning Toad's suggestion to change shadow distance to something other than 'none'
