This is a HOLDFAST Player owned Town (PoT) with access from the overland map and also all special rewards such as free homes and the like. It has not been named or placed yet and the town submission form is still unlocked. It is basically brand new virgin and untouched. You can still decide how to name it, which template to choose, where to place it on the map and so on.

I am looking for any of the following or combination of the following:
    - USD
    - store credit
    - COTOs
    - gold
    - land deeds
    - pledges
    - commission free vendors
    - true rares and sought after items such as CoV, high pledge rare items and so on

Whatever you offer I will convert according to my own subjective metric into what it is worth to me. Highest value offer will win.

Please keep in mind that towns with overland access have not been sold for months and even towns without are no longer available from the store. Those towns sold very fast, too fast, so that Portalarium finally had to stop selling them because IMHO they have been sold too cheap and offer way too many options for the money. You get your own big zone, own personal banker and merchant, town wall and a load of other cool features and options.

    Please PM me with offers.

CURRENT AUCTION STATUS: Closed at $1800

Auction is ended Sunday 18th evening 21:00h London time (16:00h / 4 pm New York EST time).

Note: This auction has been running for several days already, but I decided to replace the original thread when it was hijacked and people started to call others "idiots".

But it's worth only $900 and with ep2 coming out and new lands loads more PoTs will be sold (again same size for like $900). If I was you I'd take that guy's fool's gold and run rather than waiting for someone with greater obliviousness to come along (and bear in mind none of us can confirm you have even been offered this $1800) :3

I would like to buy one from you for $900. I will even pay you a $100 finders fee if you find me another seller who is willing to sell his PoT to me for $900. The value of things is what people are willing to sell them for and what someone is willing to pay for them. It is not what we were able to buy them for in the past nor what you personally think it should be worth.

Episode 2 won't be coming out anytime before at least 2018. Please read Darkstarr's posts. Even then, nobody knows if there will be PoTs available for sale and at what price point. My gestimate is there might be, but for a price that more realistically reflects their functionality and desirability.

Of course in Episode 2 there might also be more pledges with tax free place anywhere lot deeds, keeps, castles, Baron titles, imps and whatever. Are you now going to also troll every other person's threads on these forum who is trying to sell a rare item, pledge or lot deed for more than what it was originally sold for in the add-on store or Kickstarter campaign? Or is your "special attention" here a unique priviledge that only I will be able to continue to enjoy?

In your world, a PoT is "worth" $900. Once in a while someone might then agree to sell one for that price. But most times none will be available. When a PoT becomes available, dozens of people will scramble to get it, but only one who heard about it "through a friend" or has been lucky to read about it first will get it. Everyone else will be waiting and waiting and waiting and never get a chance to own one. This is called socialist planned market economy. Welcome to queuing up in front of an empty store in the Soviet Union.

In my world, a PoT is worth whatever price balances supply and demand. As long as there are dozens of people who want a PoT badly the price will go up until it is a price attractive enough for more owners to sell a PoT and use the money for something else. Not just one owner selling one for $900 to a lucky person every few weeks. But enough sellers to supply the demand at a higher price point called the "market value". This is called a free market. Welcome to America and the free world of efficient markets.

Now the reason why I am running an auction instead of selling for a fix price (which I normally do) is because I am trying to find out together with everyone bidding here what the current market value of a Holdfast PoT with overland access is at this point of time.

I've received bids from 4 bidders above $1500. Find me people who sell PoTs for $1500 or less and I will happily match them up! I am not in the slightest hurry to sell mine. I can wait. Help spread the word that there are people who want to buy PoTs and willing to pay some extra. I am happy to share buyers if you find more sellers.

I think the main problem is you are not willing to be transparent with the so called bids you have. Most people who run an auction show who is bidding to keep it fair. Not showing the actual people bidding can lead to more nefarious types of stuff :)

I've seen people "auction" in private here. I never bid though. That's just my prerogative.

On the other note, I don't think it's fair to discuss what people think something is or isn't worth on another's market place post. If someone is willing to pay for something that they want now, it doesn't matter if it comes out at a lower price tomorrow. Just read the thread and move on to the next one. I hope that anyone spending $1500+ on something does some research into what they are buying first.

No one said that your "auction" can't be run like a dark pool. Fact is that you were caught lying about a highest bid (which you conveniently failed to acknowledge and I'm guess why you deleted your previous sell post).

Then you claim that the auction technology was lacking. True but if you were running a dark pool then why does that matter.

If you had been upfront about your approach and had a little more integrity, you would not be at this stage where people are taking exception.

P.S. If you are going to provide your point of view, at least have the integrity to address all the points, instead of cherry picking those are partially defensible.

    Said my piece. Peace.

We are operating 3500 regions in Second Life and built a reputation over more than 12 years. Do you seriously believe I need to come here to screw someone out of a few hundred dollars with a faked auction and even be so stupid to do so under the eyes of Portalarium staff who can easily access my forum PMs here? Most people obviously prefer to bid discretely by sending me PMs rather than posting publicly. I respect that. You should respect that too.

I got up in the morning, checked my PMs and saw that I received a bid that was $50 or so higher than the previous high bid that I had received. I updated the thread with the latest high bid I saw. Then a few minutes later the person holding the high bid posted on the thread that he retracted the bid because he meant it to have a limited duration and that duration actually expired between him sending me the PM and me reading his PM. He was right, I had missed that his two hours were actually over between all the timezones involved. I was not paying as much attention as I should have in this case. By the time I came back to the forums and the thread I had already received two more bids taking the whole auction almost $150 higher than the expired last high bid and $200 higher than the still standing high bid. You are making a fuzz over nothing here and your accusations, conclusions and implications are quite uncalled for.

Honestly, I don't see how this is any different than the hundreds of people offering something for sale and saying "Send me your offers"...

This is why I've always done public auctions. Less drama, more transparency.

You admitted wrongdoing (not paying attention and misposting). Pretty sure it's not an accusation if what I said is true, as you have confirmed. Whatever the reason is, fact is you misled others on the highest bid and did not clarify in the first instance. In fact, today (days later) is when we are hearing about the reasons behind your alleged mispost of highest bid.

Fuzz was made and it was not over "nothing".

Agree with you. But the issue isnt with the method of sale but on the integrity of the seller.

You seem quite obsessed with my person. Who are you actually? Why do you need to use what is obviously a forum/trading alt to troll my sales threads and throw mud?

Dont attack this seller, those pots are rare and have value beyond what portal originally sold them for.

If your not a legitimate buyer you should move on from this thread or negotiate via pm.

Sorry for my .02 but this kinda crap irritates me.

No one is attacking you. We are pointing out facts and letting people form their opinions. Stated my point and have no supplements.

I trade on these forums just as much as you. Just because I don't trade with the likes of you, so that makes me an alt troll?

If you don't like being "attacked", then you should stop "attacking" my person as you so elegantly put it.

So you are saying you are trading a lot on these forums. Obviously, you have not been doing this with the forum account that you are using here on this thread as that account has no more than a handful of postings. So, how many alt accounts are your many trades spread across? Why do you need to use forum alts to perform trades and post in other people's threads? Who is the one doing shady things here and lacking transparency? Who is the one hiding behind alts and annonymity?

If you think you can impress me or anyone else here with throwing false accusations and mud while hiding behind a mask you are dead wrong. You are only making a fool of your annonymous self. Which is, I guess, why you don't have the balls to post with your main here.

So, it is so obvious and so extremely annoying when people try to use "bids" to make pretend there is an increased interrest in a specific item or service.

" Selling X for Y , seen it go for Z !! so this is super cheap" - Nah mate you never saw anything sell. You saw someone list something for Z
" Selling X For Y, Already have offers for Z But willing to sell for Z + 5 gold " - Nice try. If you really had offers you would have sold it for that.

But something people who complain really have to understand. If you offer someone 1000 dollars for something, and he claims he have 1200 dollars offer ( Just an example ) , why would he turn down the offer if he didnt either have a higher offer, or was really sure he could get more?

Yes, its a douche move and whenever someone do silent auctions, you just have to decide if you want to participate or not. An item is always worth what someone is willing to pay, and if people stop accepting silent auctions, then people will stop making them.
