A quick question Rowell, apologies as its probably clearly stated somewhere in the guides.. the pricing you use for recipe ingredient costs for manufactured components as oposed to gathered; so for example pie dough, butter etc..are these aggregated prices based on live market prices? so for pie dough: aggregated cost of flour (from purchased grain), sugar (only purchase available right now I believe), salt - purchased rather than gathered, and butter, made from purchased milk.

A better example may be where jars and fuel are also needed.

Thanks for the great work - i plan to use it a lot.

There's actually two pricing sets. The Market value (for pie dough, for example) is listed on the main page. That's the minimum, maximum and average prices that you would find Pie Dough for sale. That factors in NPC prices (how much they buy it for), as well as aggregated prices from players (what they sell it for on their vendors). When you click on the Pie Dough recipe, all the components are listed, along with their prices from NPC's (if the NPC's sell the item...like tools, or fuels), as well as the minimum, maximum and average prices that players sell the component items for on their vendors. So, while you would have a pretty static price for sugar (as it is only sold by NPC vendors), you could see fluctuating prices on Flour or salt, or butter...since players make those items and can sell them on their vendors for variable prices. The key to the site is a vibrant member base that posts their prices; it gives a larger picture of the economy, and prices for items.

I hope this answers your question. Glad you like the site!

    Update May 11:

    - Re-programmed the Region List page to break down all the recipe locations by Region/Town/Vendor. So now all the vendors list the recipes that they sell, listed in order by Region and Town.

Thanks for the offer, Boo. You can actually help out right now. The site has an Update feature that allows members to add and update items, as well as add and update recipes. So if you find an item or recipe that doesn't exist on the site, or if you find a mistake on an item or recipe, you can fix it right away on the site. After the update gets verified, it becomes live on the site.

Over the next day or three, I'll be updating all the NPC Vendor names (and adding any that are missing). I will also be adding the TYPE of vendor they are as well (Alchemist, Blacksmith, Carpenter, Cooking Supplies, Groceries, Housing Deco, Magic Ingredients, Tailor, Tavern Keep). That information will also show up when you look at a recipe, as well as in the Region/Town/Vendor break down of all the recipes (who sells what).

Player stores now has a field to store the URL for an image of your store in-game.
The Site is up to date with today's R54 release.

I've been adding all the Vendor type NPC's from towns around Novia (so far, every NPC in Etceter, Xenos, Aerie, Northwood, Yew, Harvest, Valhold, Estgard have been added). There are still many towns that have not been updated by Portalarium, and retain their unnamed NPC's. These merchants still exist as generically named NPC's on the web site (ie, "Blacksmith", "Housing Decorations", etc). As soon as the towns are revamped, the upgraded NPC's will be updated on the web site as well.

I believe we're up to 250 NPC's in the database so far, with several more towns to be added (tis a very time intensive process).

I'm in the process of writing some tools to help automate, or at least make easier, adding in persistent data...like Towns, Vendors, etc. Once that's written, you'll have access to add/update/delete towns in the database (of course, the data will be verified before it is added/updated/deleted). I'll make an announcement here once those tools are complete.

    Update June 07 (R54 Items & Recipes):

    - Added Recipe for Elven Chandelier
    - Added Recipe for Elven Table Lamp
    - Added Recipe for Elven Streetlamp
    - Added Recipe for Elven Floor Lamp
    - Added Recipe for Elven Wall Sconce
    - Will be updating recipe for Kobold Chandelier tonight.
    - Still looking for the recipe for Tea Service.

    - Added some tools to better populate the recipes a particular vendor sells (previously, the data was entered from the point of view of a recipe...ie, "which vendors sell this recipe"). Now, I can select the vendor and select which recipes he/she sells.
    - Added a new tool that lets me list which items an NPC vendor sells. This, in addition to recipes, will give a complete picture of what vendors sell what items and recipes.
    - Added a new function that copies recipes and/or items sold by one NPC vendor to a different NPC vendor.
    - Added a new function for Player Stores that allow them to copy the items and prices from one of their stores to another of their stores. So, if Player A has a store in Brittany Fields and another store in Owl's Head, the player only needs to list items in one of the stores, and then copy the list to the other. Note: If items are added/removed, or prices change, the store will have to be re-copied (for now).

Straightened out an issue with Travian Games, where their contracted law firm mistakenly classified sotatraders.com as an RMT sales web site. sotatraders.com is an in-game only repository for in-game items and in-game currency values. See the original conversation here:

Made some major changes to Player Stores. A player store used to have its own item/price list. If you wanted to open a second (or third, or fourth) store, you would have to create a whole new price list for that store (even if it were the same as the first). This meant that players with multiple stores were having a greater impact on the overall price of items in the economy. Also, if a player was having a sale, or had seasonal/holiday pricing, they would have to edit their price list(s).

Under the new system just rolled out, players create Price Lists. Then the player assigns a price list to a store. So, you could have your regular, every day price list, create a "On Sale" price list, and a "Holiday Sale" price list....and activate them on your stores when you want.

All current player stores on the web site have been automatically converted over to this new system.

Over 50% of the items currently in the database are now properly mapped to the SOTA API... which means that NPC pricing information about those items are up-to-date, and will automatically change if the prices ever change (and if Portalarium ever ties player vendors to the API).

    atavist robe:
8 bolts cloth of your choice (this does get material bonuses)
4 spools cotton thread (this does not, has to be plain cotton)
2 red dye (it's not dyable after, either)
    bone needle
    (no wax, oddly)

    kobold chandelier:
    5 coal
    2 metal ingots
    4 iron bindings
    1 atenism gem

i don't think they put the craftable tea service in when they said they would.

there's also recipe drops for the two unicorn potions (i do not have) and for two mounted unicorn heads (discoverable, probably the same mounting recipe as all the others) and at some point they're gonna have to put in one for obsidian boar meat since there are carcasses now. there's a bug made for it.
