So you are telling me that SotA will be another garbage mmorpg (full grinding, full item based, fully insured, garbage pvp system, etc..) ?

I thought with SotA they wanted to make the "spiritual sequel" of Ultima Online, not another useless garbage mindless mmorpg...
If you are true I would be very disappointed...

I'm not sure what you expect and I doubt that anyone here can give you anything close to a full answer, only because it's not a game yet and only a testing ground. It will not be an exact duplicate of UO, nor will it be an exact duplicate of any of the Old Ultima Primes... Yet that main Ultima Developers are all here along with some other great pioneering minds of the gaming world. So, I don't believe we need to worry about that any garbage will come out of our a team :) But we can expect something new that expands our "Ultima way of placing so much more into a game, more than any big name company would bother to make".
"It's a brave new and ever developing world, with new ideas based in the spirit of expanding it's original thinking, yet in ways that the old ways restricted us from having".

Sota is not or never was the spiritual successor of UO. This is not UO2. It is the spiritual successor of the earlier ultima games and some of UO. I do not believe it will be a full grind experience. as it stands it is not item based and many of us are opposed to item based combat. It probably will do you well to revisit some of the earlier threads on combat and pvp. Maybe even the frequently asked questions as so you are more informed on your statements.

As others have pointed out, you're working from an incorrect premise. However, if you live in a world where SotA must be UO2, or it's crap, then yes, you will be disappointed.

    Hey @Abydos

That is a good post but it is only supposed to be viewable by Founder pledge or higher.

    it says:
An exclusive, read-only collection of Developer Blogs, Design Documents and an Art Gallery Depot for Founder level backers. All content within this section is subject to change and may not be copied or redistributed elsewhere.

What's funny is that there is no Founders-only forum that Founders can post in, as the existing Founders section is read-only. So it's either general public, or Dev+ only. This means the ~14k+ Founder-level backers have no forum on which to discuss Founder-only topics.

Everybody on this forum wants to see this game flourish; everyone should have an equal voice. Let's not advocate segregation based on who pledged money first and/or who donated more.

I finished Kickstarter at the $80 tier whatever it was. Which ever one has the tame the elusive monster deal. However I was greatful that I was going to just be able to see the dev blog, but I was far too inquisitive and hate to be left out of stuff so I upgraded my pledge to citizen the day that they added the dev+ forum. I thought those crafty Portalarium guys.

Couldn't they just give me dev+ because of my nice personality? I guess they didn't like it enough, besides it's a wonderful business model to gather information from people, and instead of paying them for it THEY PAY TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THEIR IDEAS WITH THE DEVELOPERS!!! There was a time when companies paid for ideas and feedback. Oh well. I was too much of a fan of Ultima, Ultima online, all the whole Virtues thing, and cool worlds that Richard Garriott made over the years I had to be apart of this in some way. I think of myself as a stakeholder in this venture. If Portalarium succeeds, I feel like I'm part of it even though I will not reap a financial reward. Whatever the motive I suspect many of the others here feel the same.

I am in no way advocating segregation -- quite the opposite. In fact, I don't even like the Dev+ forums the way they're currently set up and have said as much in those forums. What I'm pointing out is that the Founders don't have a voice to talk about things they've learned about the game from the Founders-only forum. They either have to not talk about it when posting in the General forums, or be forced to pay up to Dev+ to talk about it.

So to your point: "everyone should have an equal voice" -- that is true, they should. So where, I may ask, can the 14,000+ Founders discuss and give feedback on Founders-only topics?

I guess that all depends on what you consider to be "founder only" topics?
