They will, that's what they do.

But I think in this case, they already completely understand the argument, You guys don't like PVP. I don't think that's ever been in question.

Which is exactly why this was in the original kickstarter.

I believe this could be handled way better and making a AI pve zone in addition to the pvp zones. Make the AI really tough, but present an option to the pve crowd.

All your "solutions" involve not having to worry about pvp. Which is the whole point of this. You're supposed to be tempted. That's part of what will give PVP meaning.

If there some reason to think there won't be enough PvP flagged targets for you outside of a zone labeled "PvP"? I don't think there's going to be any shortage of PvPers out in the world.

There is no difference in the rule set between PvP zones and others that I'm aware of. Once someone enters and is flagged it's the same as everywhere else.

Its not that I dont like pvp. Its that I dont like forcing people to pvp. There is a huge difference. What you call risk and reward I call oppression. Luring sheep to slaughter is not fun and is not meaningful pvp. I am not against pvp battlegrounds or choke points. I am against the carrot that lures the pve player there.

    The purpose of PvP zones?

    To PvP, of course. o.0

It seems that the OP is begging the question...

So what your saying is its conscential only if you stay where the game initially puts you, if you want to access the whole map (not just the PVP zones even) then you not only have to stop playing single player or just playing with your friends LIKE THE GAME WAS SOLD, you have to go all in PvP till you get to the rest of the map. As I said, Refund please, false advertising

You want to Force people to pvp, by taking away all other options, or pay for services. Not a very good plan in a consentual game.

If pvp is so good and popular and everyone should be doing it, then why do we need a carrot at all? Shouldn't people just want to do it?

Problem. Even control points will be limited to how many people will fit in an instance. Even if a group of players is blocking the area off, there's always a chance you'll arrive in another instance and never see them.

Well I think you should continue to bring that up.

I'm not a fan of the language Chris uses when talking about providing wolves and sheep and all that either. I don't think that's "meaningful". But I do think there has to be something of value that everyone agrees is worth something in the pvp areas and I think that has to be exclusive to give pvp the weight it deserves.

As I've said before we're a LONG way off from meaningful at the moment. But the first step is giving people something to fight over that they can't get anywhere else.

No, I'm saying that anywhere you go in the game you're given the choice to pvp or not. The game never forces you to go anywhere or to pvp. But if you go somewhere that is pvp only, it's your choice to go there.

So, what you want is the pvper to be top dog, if they get something there that no one else gets, then it's already over.

I think that's more than a bit of an overreaction. No one is trying to force anyone to do anything.

Meaningful pvp is different than "pvp".

Exactly. It should have equal rewards elsewhere, or not be there at all.

    What's already over?

Man, sometimes I wonder if anyone else is reading this stuff and thinking "what the heck?"

This topic was never about whether or not people like PvP.. it's about the designed purpose of a PvP zone. What is actually meant to do and is that purpose really worth doing?

In terms of the PvPer side of things.. what does it do for you REALLY? What's the practical difference (apart from resource output) between a PvP zone and anywhere else?

I totally agree, but you try to get the definition of meaningful pvp from everyone here, and you will get a different answer from everyone of us.
