I rarely go into the chartroom.... but when I do I feel like Captain Kirk (Wrath of Kahn) staring at Spock through a glass window....

Isaiah, what do you think of the new Trek movies? An improvement or an insult to a classic?

 

Well since it's an alternate timeline they coexist just fine in my book. However I hope they come out with that Worf spinnoff where he is captain of his own ship.

 

I went in there and it said you need a voice (+v) or something like that. Usually it's Fireangel saying Hello! Today was truly a Spock in the window day.

What my god man, these shows have timeless ethical dilemmas. The episode when the Enterprise encounters Apollo the Greek God, I think there was a moral to that story that sends the message ... maybe you have a point. Some of the old episodes are a bit odd, but without them we wouldn't have George Takaei on our facebook feeds!

 

I went into the chat room a few days ago for the first time since the forums opened (I forgot about it).

Saw my name showed up as Lord Gr__g_or. LOL. I will change it back to my original name during the KS campaign as the special characters I have in it throws stuff off. I can see it now as I try to log in on the 12th I can't due to those characters...

I've gone back and seen many of my beloved childhood & early adulthood shows and movies and man, I was either blind, dumb or had horrible taste!

 

Why did the chatroom close by the way? I rarely go there myself because it doesn't work on my home computer, it said it closed due to recent changes that probably pit certain people against each other and wanted to close up for a *cooldown*. They didn't specify the changes made, and I don't see anyone talking about them in the forums. Am I not supposed to discuss it or something?

 

Hello Isaiah, violation, Phredicon, Atlaua, Aartemis, Lord Greagoir, and Robby. I have no idea why the chat got shut down. I've read what was said, but first hand, I honestly don't know what happened.

I was in for a very short time last evening, due to my ISP bumping me out quite a bit, and I didn't see hostility or 'snarkiness'. Astrobia posted a link [I'll not repost that link] to some chat excerpt where FireLotus is warning about hostility and snarkiness in the chat, but I'm not seeing what line was crossed per that excerpt. I don't know. Perhaps everyone's tempers are getting short, Dev Team included?

I'm not one who cares that much about housing issues, or swag either, so I'm sort of out of the loop when it comes to tempers flaring over such things. I guess that's what the anger, if there was some, or snarkiness, or hostility, if there was some, was all about. Try and tone it down, I guess, is the message, no matter how upset you might be about an issue.

 

This is a silly place, let's not go there.

I'm confused. Where, exactly, is the hostility and stuff that was being referred to? I don't think I saw anything at all in that transcript that justified shutting down the chat room.
