Sorry that I forgot to update this main thread - our contest winner, @Kabalyero and others did a great job with contest entries.

Behold the new Shroud of the Avatar subreddit theme!

 

Most people cannot see that banner Ben. Alpha reddit is not default site wide yet. Takes 2 minutes to install the needed CSS for in the meantime.

Isn't the banner image a huge spoiler for the game?

 

I have not actually played through the full storyline so i'm not sure.

If it is please PM me with how and i'll discuss with Ben about keeping it up or changing it.

I don't think the image is a spoiler because it's already out there in public...

@Ben_Hroth Have you no interest in changing the Banner for most people using the subreddit?

 

The center image shows the final location that you only see at the conclusion of the 3 virtue paths. It also shows another character who appears, and the reward for completing the story (a version of it). People can see others wearing the reward in-game already, but it may be an issue for those who like to play solo. It's not a spoiler in the sense that it helps you complete the story, only in the sense it reveals things that people might want to see for themselves which are contingent on completing the story.

I have no opinion - just explaining. Reddit for me is a stinking pit I don't often like to fall into.

Incorrect @Ben_Hroth ? (only a small number of users see the new Reddit mode by Default.) There are currently two modes, Classic, Redesign. which Ben has only concerned himself with updating the Latter. Just pointing this out as Ben seems to be unaware.

Many thanks to subredditor /u/tinnis_ (sorry, don't know forum identifier if there is one) who took the initiative to provide computer code in "CSS" and a foolproof (I need foolproof, heh!) step-by-step guide to getting our subreddit looking nice for every user too!

Background: There are two versions of the site (old and new) and so /u/tinnis_ provided the code to push the new version onto the old version, so @Kabalyero's design worked for both!



Personally, Reddit is a "safe for my particular work" way to keep up for my Shroud of the Avatar information fix, so there's an option in Reddit to strip out all graphics, so my Reddit looks like:



(Just the facts, ma'am!)

Hi Ben, Just to clarify that "safe for work" means all postings are moderated before showing up? To make sure no one can post a NSFW image or a link that takes them to a NSFW content? If anyone can post links and images without moderation, it could have NSFW content for a period of time before the mods see it on Reddit.

If not, then you will need to rephrase that.

 

Thanks, I rephrased that! All I mean by "safe for my particular work" is that the Reddit site itself has no graphics. You have to push through a link to a different website to get graphics, but often I'm just interested in what players are saying about the latest quest, event, etc... all text!

By contrast, coming to this forum, is NOT safe for my particular work because it is graphics heavy: It has a huge "SHROUD OF THE AVATAR" banner at the top, and it has a graphics of each of our avatars to the left (like your red and white shield or my Ultima ][ space shuttle). I can't show any of that at work, they'll think I'm playing games!
