Married Couples Having Babies in Shroud of the Avatar

Well I am still not that enthused. It reminds me a bit when I was playing WOW and yes I did like a lot of things about the game for 4 years, and then when they were gonna do Pandas that was just too strange to me, well it wasn't 'just' the Pandas but just sayin. So hopefully we don't have to worry about babies for a while it is not on my agenda. Right now we can barely get to what we are doing we so don't need a new thing to distract us from what's still missing in this game and that is a lot. I am all for tons of features and peoples visions for what they want in the game. This one isn't mine.

First I want my character to react to the world around them in many meaningful, interesting, and fun ways. I want to see them react to being poisoned, cursed, or other environment things. I want my character to have skills that are from having actually learned something in very meaningful ways, like they cannot cast that fireball all that well untill they learn about fire and experience fire which in turn will affect how well they can do fire, and perhaps give them fire features others won't have. Where's the interesting character development, not just pick a skill and use a skill, raise a level, pick another skill, oh and then excitingly raise another level, yaaay you get to pick another skill, and on and on and on........... sheesh give me a break. That is so boring sometimes I could scream. ok ok lol. So hopefully this type of thing is in the works, but who knows. Anway those are things on my mind, not babies. So I am derailing and it isn't fun if I'm here, so go ahead and enjoy your fun.

I don't object to the realism of having babies in game if in turn we can have very detailed and realistic graphically accurate roleplaying methods of making said babies.

I might even find time to volunteer for the Mo-Cap.

Was seriously the first thing I thought when it was mentioned.

I know what happens to children in LB games. . new recipes?

 

What about the "divorce decree", will the couple be permanent PvP to one another?

Oh, I can't wait to see "pregnant" avatars walking around (pregnant women are Beautiful), will there be any restrictions for warrior women? Like no battles after the 5th trimester? Will fathers pushing baby carriages be off limits to PvP (after all you can't leave the little tic by themselves)...

Baby cribs, diaper pails, over night bags... Will diapers cost alot or be washable? A player run laundry service.... Cloth lines, crying baby sounds... Feeding bottles or will breast feeding be allowed in public places?

 

What about midwifing and birthing, labor sounds...

 

... oh, man, I can just PICTURE this Stretch-Goal Store List getting posted already! "A gender-neutral nursery comes free with pledge, but for $10, you can purchase a specific color nursery of your choice!" "Want to vex thine new-parent enemy? For $20, you can purchase the new Chaos Spell, "Colic Baby," that will keep thine foe awake ALL NIGHT with a cranky little one!"

 

I'd pay good money to make my enemy's baby cry.

 

So, is this going to be Avatar + Avatar only, or could this occur with Avatar + Companion or Avatar + NPC as well? Will wandering Avatars who woo others now have to face potential parenthood?

And what about once-human creatures, such as elves? Can there be half-elves, or does the magic that makes them render them sterile, etc.?

Could there be a market for magics/alchemy that serve as precautionary measures? Or insuring a clean bill of health for the amorous Avatar on the go?

Not sure if I should laugh or cry?

 

I will be the first to host a baby party. We all do get hungry and there is nothing that feeds one better than baby parties.

 

Babies are a source of a very potent weapon. (If you catch the reference)

Yeah ..... baby poop. I've seen it make my wife sick. She handled three C-sections like a warrior, but a powerful batch of baby poop ...... curtains.
