Sorry to counter. Just picking out the bad apple out of many example full loot pvp games under development proofs nothing for me.
It is like picking a bad action movie in the cinema claiming that action movies fail and should not be in cinemas.

There is a huge market for full loot pvp and harder playing style.

I drop as a counter example "Life is Feudal"

Has Full Loot and the classic Ultima Online Skill Advance System.
It has sold more then SotA. Has far higher ranking in Steam.

Crap. I promised myself not to participate in such topics anymore. Fruitless as we all have stubborn positions.
Like telling someone who thinks spinach tastes aweful that it is good. And with the hope that if you repeat it 1000 times that he suddenly loves it.

LF is in your opinion bad.

But many have not your opinion. Me included.
I think it is fun and has potential.

But SotA will be good also. Will only focus on other gamers

    By the way.

It is very entertaining if you go over to the Life is Feudal Forum.
Like entering a twilight zone. Suddenly you have Developers defending Full Loot Telling Players who want no PvP , no Full very interesting arguments why they stick to it.
And they are annoyed by players not accepting the core idea of the game same as some do not want to accept the core pvp set up here that is not going to be full loot.

We should all be happy that the market provides successful styles for all of us.

By the way. Many Pre Trammel UO Fans at LiF.

One Developer responds in Life is Feudal to a User that is very persistent in suggesting
to remove Full Loot and PvP.

Quote: Liam (name changed), if you cannot accept open PvP and full loot system, then I am afraid that this game is not for you, and I am completely serious, hardcore games such as this one has only so many followers, because it is really hard to survive in that world and you need to use strategic thinking, not only stay in one place and grind.

So please stop suggesting to change or get rid of LiF core features.

I think this is also a response for SotA just the other way around:

If you can't accept that SotA is not full loot and PvP everywhere then the game might not be right for you.

@Myrcello I tried LiF on day 1 and when I realized I could go from caveman to full blown knight because the way the resource progression works ... I was like meh. Many people, not just me were absolutely convinced that the way specific skills functioned did not make any sense. The example is it took more time (real life weeks) to make a pair of pants than to make metal greaves.

Someone on the team replied that the developers would not even begin to change the way the game worked for the community. See muh point? :)

Plus LiF is a knockoff of a game called Wurm and Wurm is better bar none.

I LOVE pvp. But when a company like LiF releases YO after they were kick started and I dont see LiF MMO coming out any time soon ... Makes me wonder about the greed aspect :)

Its coming Bro! There is another town in the making that will do exactly what you guys are talking about! But if they dont fly the PVP flag throughout the whole release it will just be boring as it is as the moment!

Come out and be free minions!

I am hoping that beyond flagged PvPers, we will have other incentives for PvP combat.

    wishlist for hard coding:

    guild warring
    resource grab
    cagematch death battles for prizes
quests that temporarily will flag you PvP to other players on the same quest line
    sieges
    pet fighting (and gambling)

    Is this a joke?

The game is now ridiculously PVE. Some PVP action would be welcome.

I agree, I let the PVP bake for a solid year to see what progress was being made and it looks like PVP is not a reason to play SotA. I don't think the community contributing to it pre-release has PVP as a priority, therefor the game will fall short of PVPers expectations. If PVPers put 10k ea into a sit downs or 40 hrs a week volunteer work and talked pvp then we might see something in game, sounds to much like politics and not game making. In my opinion the forum is not pvp friendly either. I think the players more interested in PVP might think differently, I refuse to pay for a game (basically) that hasn't delivered what I care about most cause you have no recourse when they don't. And I'm not contributing major $$ unless I can get a return.

Fyi-I purchased RoK full retail during development with lots of bugs, hackers, server issues and it was SO MUCH FUN. The reason was a PVPer played it, liked it and told PVPers it was worth it despite the issues (and the fact it might not even be released, LOL) cause it delivered.

Ah this thread.... there are a bunch of pvpers and PK's that backed this game me being one of them. At least according to their own statements in previous pvp threads.

    Do I play right now?
No I do not because I want to live the game after launch, exploring n stuff. I do fiddle online trying out skills, getting used to game mechanics and scouting for a spot to place house.

Also there will be pvp everywhere if ur flagged for it and full loot in some zones is still correct?

All of this has been in pvp threads before it though..

PS I am for full loot with pvp everywhere no flags.
I want to be brutally murdered over and over again until I can finally break free and laugh the laugh of insanity; )
