Perhaps its my age, perhaps my temperament, or my philosophy, or even my limited vocabulary--but to me, the word 'grind' has a negative connotation. And, as I'm enjoying the hell out of the time I'm able to spend in Novia I think the 'g' word is inappropriate. But it's just my opinion. I understand that you and perhaps some other folks think otherwise. But even then, getting back on topic, I don't understand how exploitation increases the g-factor for people that simply have fun playing the game.

"grind" is the usual word for "farming" just more global meant.

 

How many will quit IF there is another wipe would you say ?

 

I'm afraid "Grind" is the perfect word. Aside from the few quests in the game, what exactly is there to do? Go into an area and kill mobs, or collect resources for crafting. Beyond that, there really isn't too much else to do. That's where player creations (like EVL's Virtue League, and other player run events) come into play. You're grinding mobs to get XP for your pool to raise your skills. You're collecting resources to craft items to a) raise your production skills and b) augment your ability to grind mobs.

 

And are you going to compensate me and the others who have used real money to buy items for the game? We did this on the promise that we are in persistence. That is pretty well inconsiderate thinking on your part.

 

Reset only the skills and the ressources in game not all but i think we can survive with that we did it so many time

 

Before persistance all rewards have been hold in the bank and IF ther would ever come a wipe again it will be the same BUT I will never start again a new toon if they wipe.

 

Let's talk about the ressources that got sold for hard cash and cotos that you used to gain those skills ;-)

 

But if it's not about maxing and no race etc. and so much fun that most people stated in the discussions i read, it would be no problem ^^

Sucks to see another one go. Hope he comes back or others take his place. But if this perception, either real or perceived, continues how are they planning to build a player base and keep existing players.

 

I guess a wipe doesn't help until there are no more exploitable mechanics, a balance for Economy is found and some more things that actually aren't implemented yet.

I wouldn't have started if another wipe was planned.
But i would not quit IF they do it.

 

I bet you would quit once you saw how many players were left.

 

All I want for Christmas is a quitters account...
