Am I the Last One to Know Books Are Busted?

So when did the importing of books get hosed?

I have been selling my books of poetry for months and only yesterday did I come to find out that WHOLE PAGES of imported text are getting skipped! The first three pages get imported just fine and after that - it all goes down the crapper.

Even deleting down to 6000/8000 allowed characters still causes problems with skipped pages. I don't want to post a bug report if this is known, so I am asking here.

Dang it - my books are trashed and I gotta issue refunds to people who bought them. :-(

 

I really appreciate the writers in this game. Thanks for your hard work, so sorry for the import bug!

 

@Black Tortoise have you seen this reported before? I tried to find something, but I was unsuccessful. I hate posting bug reports when someone else did it months ago so I am trying to avoid that. This is a HUGE bug. Like a dinosaur size bug...lol. Hard to believe no one else noticed it before me.

Thanks for being a supporter of the writers. I am weeping bloody tears over this as I try to fix things with zero success.

 

I did not know about this, maybe I'm the last to know ? . Now I gotta go check my old maclepedias and see if anything is missing, not that it matter much, it needs to be redone anyways.

 

I have been testing. I may end up doing a bug report anyway once I finish my testing. Seems like pages 4-5 are being skipped and that throws it all off. My precioussssssss :::weeps bitter tears:::

That was supposed to be fixed in R61. I don't see anything else listed recently.

Did you try copy/paste from a text editor instead of import? Might be a workaround.

 

I can't do copy/paste. I use HTML colors and designs in the books including bold/italic. That ends up looking like this on a copy paste:

I didn't even know that you could import HTML. That might be the reason text is being cut off. The HTML itself is probably counted.

There is no love towards Greagoir In any of those skipped pages. I am sure once you add that all will be fixed again.

 

This bug has been around for a while, but I only recently noticed that some of my old imported things are broken when I tried to make new ones.
The very same text file that worked at some point in the past, now no longer works.
Its very frustrating. I've just written a series of books for an upcoming event and had to do it all manually, with no fun import styles/colors since getting that to work is an incredible hassle. You can still do it, but you have to duplicate whole swaths of text since they are arbitrarily going missing and simply adding extra spaces/lines doesn't work.

 

Hope they fix it soon as i dont feel like manually writing stuff for the bookstore now. I just opened it and if i get orders for book copies i dont want to do them by hand. LOL

 

@Belladonna Rose my bug report got acknowledged by @Bzus , "Bug entered. #64048". However, as of QA 815 it is not yet fixed. You can believe me when I say - this is one time I am going to be the squeaky wheel until I see this fixed, preferably in R63.

 

Yeah, I just wrote a set of books for this upcoming mardi gras event and finding out you've got a typo that is going to make you nuts, but knowing you're going to have to retype or copy/paste/strip/reformat the whole book since import is totally borked, is frustrating. Not to mention I couldn't make all the pretty colors.

 

Its just kinda ironic. I finally set my sights on a goal of mine and its bugged. LOL. Oh well. Will wait and see how it goes.

The problem with books is supposed to be fixed this week according to @wizardsmoke . I received this info on the R63 QA bug report and I am happier than a pig in slop!!
