I was also thinking that using a bow or crossbow, you will have a large circle with easy red bulls eye in middle when close, and the farther away someone gets from the bow, the smaller the circle w/bulls eye gets and a shakier the hold with chances of a miss.

Great shot of the stone bow. I have always wanted to shoot a stone crossbow. Never have had the chance. :(

I like your idea of a targeting system with the bulls eyes.

I also like playing archers, and I'm also a longbowman in real life. ;)

Lars Anderson is good, but I'm not sure he could keep that rate of fire up with a proper warbow. Things like that are easy with modern bows, shooting lightweight arrows. Still, I suppose it'd work for the Rapid Fire ability, if the animation shows the avatar taking out 3 arrows and shooting them in rapid succession.

However, I have but one request: have at least the option to have the quiver on the right hip instead of the back. Drawing arrows from over your back is slow, awkward and annoying. Drawing them from the hip is much faster and easier, and looks much cooler.

It might be too ingrained in the minds of those who don't and have never shot to be seen as real or serious, having a hip quiver.

"It looks cool and you can see all the details on your arrow holder thingie...just like Robin Hood and Hawkeye.":D

A friend showed me your thread as he knows I love bows (and crossbows) and all sort of medieval, historical things.

Believe or not, when I was playing as a bowcrafter character on a medieval RPG game, I did some deep research and saw A LOT of these videos. It's a really nice art, man. The details, the precision, the time spent... Gotta love it. And thanks for posting.

My character will definitely be an arbalest, so if anyone needs a solid crossbow look me up. Love the vids!

Time to put this back in our conversation loop. It's a wonderfully informative and entertaining introduction to the potential of archery as a craft tree and battle/hunting in SotA.

Thanks to Blaguerogue for the original posts!

Made these last year to get some of the kids, grandson, nieces, nephews, into trying archery. They love them. Oh yeah, they are made of PVC.
