And how do we do it if its possible , thx !
No you cannot currently. Richard doesn't want players griefing others and then changing their name to duck their reputation.
At one point we were supposed to get an in game reputation system that would stick with all your characters no matter what. I haven't heard if that is still on the roadmap.
I'd support a name rename service with the New York vendors that cost COTOs and had a time limit, so you couldn't change your name more than once every 90 days.
Reasons to allow name changes:
* RP where a character gets married or joins a family
* Someone made a typo in their character name. My daughter mistyped her name and we can't change it.
* Player just wants something different every once in a while.
ATM nope, only way is delete and start over
I just noticed that I somehow miss typed my character name, they really should provide a service for people who clearly made a simple mistake/typo.
Currently they only way possible is to delete your char and make again.
If you go this way, unload all your inventory, and equipment into your bank or house.
Give your gold to someone you trust to hold for you, or buy up things your going to need anyway. (repair kits, reagents, equipment)
You keep your house, and everything at your house, and your bank, you keep all the emotes you have unlocked, your friends list, and guild associations, and permissions settings.
You also reset all your quests, so you can do them again, and pick different choices, while keeping the original rewards.
Seems like this could be something that could be resolved and policed by the devs. In other games you would typically contact support and ask.
Looks like Berek has commented on this before:
It would be interesting if upon changing a name, an FKA (Formerly Known As) appeared at the bottom of the paperdoll on inspect with previous names.
Then you'd get situations where you've have things like:
Quenton (FKA as Quentn)
for the rest of your character's life. No thanks!
If you poorly named your avatar, why wouldn't you log out immediately and change it? You wouldn't lose any time and barely any energy by doing so. If you spent weeks, months, or years under a certain name.. then yes, unless you're willing to delete it, I think Quentn should follow you.
They were talking about name changes during the Telethon. Every account will get one free player name change, and after that, there'll be a service charge.
I don't know whether they're doing this now or is something they'll offer later.
Can you change your title or is that part of your characters name?
Titles can be changed at any time, or removed all together if you don't want to display one. "-" on the number pad is the default to pull up the title menu.
Thanks. I don't happen to have a number pad so will have to figure out how to achieve that haha.
Click the stained glass window in the upper right hand side, titles are there, too.
Thanks again. Didn't notice that option.
That would only work if you noticed the typo right away. Unfortunately a one letter typo is very easy to miss, and its not like you spend a lot of time looking at your own name.
It's in the upper lefthand corner of your screen constantly. If you ever look at your health bar, you'll see it.
Perhaps you read your name constantly, however my eyes go to the information I need and move away. And again a one letter typo can be near impossible to notice until someone points it out to you, even if you are looking for it.
I don't read my name constantly. lol That would be silly. You implied it was hidden somewhere when it is clear as day in the corner of the screen constantly. And in the chat window any time you send a message or receive a whisper. But hey.. mistakes happen. Not everyone has the same attention to detail I guess.
I just spotted a typo on my secondary accounts character name, as I tried to make him coowner and he could nowhere be found. Is there an ingame possibility for name change meanwhile?
Separate names with a comma.
