On the co-op trailer, did anyone else feel the game looked better without the UI? I am longing for a more simple UI for the game now (Like the one in ESO)

Also they showed off a strong portion of PvP only areas. While these are cool to look at (I mention elsewhere the ruins are awesome) it is a little deceptive to non PvPers who will probably never get to experience them.

I think for once i agree with you.

Def best ive seen so far tho.
And the only visual problem i had with first one is when it zooms in past a tree branch... makes the detail on trees look.. awful.

Rest of zones were good.. but need a hint of a threat or something in first one. Not just a zone browse lol

I think they both offer something and I didn't mind the narrator voice at all. They both showcased scenes of the game but what was missing for me was 'why we are here' and what is the purpose, and what is the journey? What are we contending with when we have reached this place and what has gone on before we got here? What was the struggle and what caused it or offer the question of was behind it that we are to discover? I'm not criticizing just offerering feedback. The trailers above are looking good I'm just missing some questions being asked about the purpose and why of this game. Some of these examples I'm posting are AAA but just as an example.

I thought the same thing when I watched the two videos. The videos are very beautiful, especially for those who already play but ... those who don't play the game yet are just watching a series of scenes. Nothing is said about the features that would make a person actually play.

I always remember this trailer when I think of something well created. I never forget my excitement I felt when I first saw him. Maybe it served as some kind of inspiration?

Oh I played that game lol . One thing I loved is the mounts who could carry two people that was awesome. And the pet eggs that you found as loot and could hatch and take care of. Some awesome ideas from that game. It was a bit cookie cutter on feel imo which Shrouds Excels and will excel as time goes by in a lot of ways and that the above trailers don't express.

Being honest, the second trailer (with faster music and fights) is much better than the first one.

In general better than old ones :)

Totally agree they really should combine the 2 videos as well as add in some text that really accentuates features and show some of the actual combat and the biggest thing missing which I think for good or bad is also their strongest selling point was showcasing player housing and player created content

The Travian team told me they did all the trailers that played at the event.

@Cerus, here is feedback on the videos. Please relay to Stephan.

Many thanks for the Kudos everyone!

Those trailers were made in close cooperation with the Portalarium team and we are very happy to see that you are as excited about them as we are :)

@Cerus - Great job on the trailers! Might want to re-post them on YouTube with Comments Turned Off.

And the same on Portalarium's YouTube too! :)

Just received some feedback from a coworker.

He watched these videos and said the game looks phenomenal. He really liked the vegetation in the scenes. A comment that the lighting could use some work. However he did enjoy the trailers. He's thinking of buying the game now. Crossing fingers we have a mass influx of new Outlanders. Need to fill up my Taverns :)

Apologies for being the contrarian. I don't usually find myself in this situation here.

But we might only get one minute for a new prospective player to watch a videos. And in the first minute the World Video shows a fence from 42 to 46 seconds, then windmills from 55 to 60 seconds. Is that what we want newcomers to take away about SOTA before they click 'exit' after the first minute? Issues like this continue. For example, from 1:57 to 2:00 the video is so dark I cant even make out what its about.

Aspects of the world video like this give it much less 'punch' at showing off the game in its first minute than SOTA deserves. This world video is not nearly as compelling as it should - and certainly can be - for SOTA's launch in my humble opinion. I really think Portalarium needs to do better.

For kicks I played on mute with some Fury Road soundtrack music [Junkie XL - Brothers in Arms] in the BG, seemed to fit nicely as well. =] Either way, liking the new videos and the music, more so the pacing of the second.
