When I logged in I saw a message to disable cloth in the options in order to prevent the crash on scene change. This doesn't work for me. The only thing that works is to remove my cloak.

(just trying to rule out possibility)

After the crash, have you guys tried logging again and see if you get the crash on the 2nd round (assuming the cloak should now be removed before logging in)?

I have a hunch that if we wore a cloak at the time we log in, whatever the stuff that would cause the crash was already there even if we took the cloak off at that time.

Also what OS are you running on @Lord Barugon?

Linux. If I re-login and try again then it still crashes. However, I only crash if I change scenes directly. If I exit to menu then resume or start on world map then I don't crash with a cloak on.

I'm afraid Linux client might have other issues beside the cloths sim unfortunately.

    I was naked!
Then I tried as Ghost and finally I could enter the Overworld.

Well if your naked that eliminates clothing as a possible suspect I would think or at least the only one :)

There could be very well multiple reasons for the crashes.. ( perhaps the cloths is one but just not the only one )

well, perhaps removing cloak and disabling cloth fixes some crashs but it does not fix the crash when I try to recall to a pot from Eceter Mines..

All I know is 6 weeks of working with the Unity guy at Portalarium has only made things worse if this release is anything to go by. Maybe it's one of those. ."it's gotta get worse before it can get better" types of things.

This issue is not Linux specific.

I just reported the same exact thing as you just mentioned. I did the same thing you did with the same results :(

I really hope they manage to fix this for the final wipe.

I have to say it.... this is like the dumbest issue I have ever heard of in a game. Crashes where a type of clothing are causing it? This is ridiculous. Common Unity, get this fixed YESTERDAY.

Let's not forget that if someone else is wearing a cloak that should cause the same problem.

This is dumb. Fix the cloak not the players.

The devs have said that disabling cloth and taking off cloaks is only a workaround until the core problem is identified and fixed.

It isn't even a foolproof workaround, but it is the best we have right now. :(

It is the cloth collision physics (where it simulate fabric movements in conjunction with skinned mesh renderer) that is causing the crash, not the cloth as an item. Essentially it's the physic engine issue on Unity. If you check the water around overworld and zones, you will notice that they become ghetto again since they have to disable the water physic due to it causing crashes as well. There may be more issues on Unity's end (whatever features that they use 32-bit data type when they're supposed to use 64-bit natively).

Due to all the commotion about final wipe I would not be surprised if another review turned up on multiple game review sites, it would certainly be best if what they see is Not a game crashing on every 2nd scene exit or entry or simply crossing a bridge ( like what happened to me last night ). ( And Yes I had my Cloak off and disable cloth checked in the options menu )

Its been about 3-4 releases now that the game is crashing and this release is the worst in this regard,, I really hope they find the solution before the Final Wipe as if not for the possible reviews then for all the users that have been putting off playing till after the final wipe.
