they're only doing il2cpp for windows this time.
Unity's incremental garbage collection might help too.
So many schemes to mitigate the problems that garbage collection introduces....
Chris keeps saying he isn't involved in the crafting system, so it's not useful for him to do that.
At least it seems that channel bot works, unlike player-streams, which apparently needs the entire discord server rebooted once a month!
Maybe he should be . The combat system has evolved alot in a few years under him..new skills ..new spells . Crafting system we have 1 masterwork skill since the game started ....other then that not much new happened ... and something tells me its gonna be few more years till we get new skills in crafting if nothing changes in the team structure.
Is it me, or is this Unity upgrading baffling? Every few months (sometimes it feels like every month) something is being done with upgrading + Unity. Don't get me wrong, upgrading to get some benefit is great. I just mean that it seems a lot of resources are put into upgrading Unity every quarter. If the game looked significantly better than it did at launch, then kudos. Yes, I agree and am happy that performance went up. However, the reality for me is performance went up at one point (yay!), performance went down during some releases (boo!) and/or Unity crashes and prevents me from playing for whole months (WTF!). This last problem (crashing constantly) got fixed recently for me - part of this was a new release, but I also chucked my R9 Fury's and went with a RTX 2070.
Well the upgrades from what I hear are not all about performance. Some are QOL featues for developing the game. I'm sure there's some things behind the scenes we don't know or even understand. I don't personally have performance issues but I know some do for whichever reason like old computers, macs and Linux or even other system incompatibilities.
Unity updates every month.
Unity updates won't magically turn the game graphics up. Updates bring bugfixes, improve performance, add new tools etc. Once they start skipping the updates, they can never upgrade. Same with every single third party lib/framework. The bigger the version cap, the bigger is the required work.
Chris is the Tech Director. The crafting system falls under his purview.
Partner or affiliate? Twitch affiliates have specific requirements. Twitch partnership does not and requires an application process. Not that they couldn't ultimately get both, but it sounds like they're nearing affiliate status, not becoming a partner yet.
HELL NO... Chris does not need to be involved anymore than he is with crafting

Atos declared decoration stacking limits have increased from 5 items to 8! Coming Soon™
Today's stream showed @Chris exactly how painful crafting is, especially with recipes that don't use refined materials.
It's amazing how you can finally see what the players have been whinging criticising giving feedback about when you actually play the game for yourselves...
So then....I wonder how many devs actually played the main story campaign from start to finish all the way through on a single character....and especially without dev hacks. I'm going to guess 0%.
He apparently has never understood exactly what they are giving him all that money for...
Was making one of the (bear wolf venison) surprise recipes the instrument of that?
From scratch that has a lot of hoops to jump through.
Maybe salvaging post UT should be next where the goal is to salvage 75 two handed hammers.
Water elemental is getting a nerf, so yay.
BEST Stream so far!!!
Thank you for enduring the actual reality of creating a highly consumable commodity!
I am looking forward to seeing your improvements for creating wood pulp & travel scrolls ingame SOON!
What an ******* thing to say....seriously
In this case... guilty as charged.
