A new QA build has been published, build 694!
It is enabled in the Linux build and can be accessed via command line option, but it is not in the Windows build currently because in our testing, it has a lot of crashing problems.
The last time I tried it, using Vulkan on Linux actually hurt performance. I can't imagine that has changed because it's still the same Unity version.
I tried starting on Linux with -force-vulkan. But the client did not start looks like it was not supported? Still if possible I would like to experiment with the option on the Windows builds.
Will not hurt any of the other players when you optionally enable it in the builds right?
FYI: As an update, I tried running the client from steam, and also the standalone clients with -force-vulkan they do not start.
Yeah running with Vulkan does need some extra work configuring your desktop to get it working optimal on Linux.
It doesn't hurt players - though it does increase build times and build size a bit, so there is a reason not to include it if it doesn't work or help performance. We will be investigating it further and do more testing. Perhaps we could turn it on for QA builds next release.
A new QA build has been published! Build 695.
Sorry, there actually isn't a 695 for Linux yet. I will get one out later today, within two hours hopefully.
Sorry, I was unable to get the Linux build out due to some Linux specific build issues and needing to get Live builds done.
The live build will make it, yes?
