It definitely makes quest experience more important, maybe what they were trying to do. I agree changes like this should have happened several versions ago.

@Chris I think the xp gain is perfect at its current state. After logging I I can't believe how amazing the game feels played at this speed. This dev team has done it again. I can't believe how perfect it feels. Nice work

Seems fine so far. We are just missing skull areas 6 to 10.

I don't agree with the OP. This game was said to be difficult once persistence hit and while difficulty has increased some, I am level 35 and others level 45, five days into the release. Please leave experience how it is or make it 20% MORE difficult.

After wipe XP gain is raised, I`d prefer to make XP gain even lower, welcome to 1x XP gain. If you have problems with tank orange mobs just use defensive stance.

Perhaps it gets much more difficult now to gain xp past level 45? ;)
I'm a casual / slow player, and it took me 1 hour in East Perennial Trail yesterday to go from adventurer level 9 to 10.

@ Svahn that's why there are "starter quests" to help to have a boost of xp. I heard you earn around 70k xp with those .... So its up to you to do them.

Well, I stopped doing quests after talking to Stanley in Soltown.
This due to the unfinished state of the npc dialogue interface.
So it's basically no more questing for me until release 1 is officially complete, unless to do some minor testing of the new interface.

Skill gain is completely fine for me.

I am training 18 skills at the same time.
    Always have 6000+ pooled xp.

If you do not get res killed, you are doing something wrong (fighting weak stuff)
When i train, i am always in danger of dying :p

    Don't know about other people but i have 4 skills 65 + atm. Didn't see 70 yet

Might as well jump in here as well. They never said it was going to be "easy" In fact I heard it was supposed to take a while to level up. Perhaps they should have taken away our 2x XP and just dropped to 1x but then they never would have heard the end of it since still not persistent. Now, however, it seems just fine to me. Hard? Ya. But the way it should be. Just enjoy the game @Weins201

Part of the problem is not all monsters have the "appropriate" exp ratio for their difficulty, which also depends on your build.
The trick is finding which monster is "weak" to your build.
I highly recommend greymark forest, elves are weak to almost everything (watchout for the archers, engage them first or their damage eats you).
If you cant' take that, try ravensmoor skeletons, they are also weak to almost everything (just don't pull too many).
The exp for each is somewhat low for skeles, but you kill lots.

Let me guess... are you playing a wizard using fire and maybe air to AOE farm? Is one of the styles that makes farming easy... almost anything that relies on AOE to farm should be able to sustain an easy progression. Also, magic is not so susceptible to miss as physical attacks (at least in my experience) so that's an extra. So it's AOE or XP parties if you want to keep raising every skill at once... the rest should rely on careful skill management (also, innate xp is divided between all the innates you are training, if you want to focus on a specific innate you should lock the rest of them)

I still think we have a half baked use based system, with things that belong to the previous level based system. It can work, in fact it is working. But issues like these will keep sprouting. From my point of view is not hard or easy... it's just inadequate.

I think exp is fine (I know how to grind though). I got to play most the day sunday and I went from adv level 28 to 42 and could probably have GM'ed a skill if I wanted to not be so well rounded. This was playing 100% pure solo. Im not a power gamer, I work full time and have a family. But ~20 hours into the game I can already take out any 4 skull area and Im almost ready for my 5 skull farm. If anything, its almost to fast.

First off I'm not sure your xp total is correct. The only way to measure xp is to lock all skills, not attacking doesn't ensure no xp is spent. But I'll assume that you watched the total and made sure it wasn't draining during combat from hit point or mana regen ticks.

Secondly, it takes less than 5k xp to go from 0-40 in a skill, so 190 a pop isn't really a problem in a tier 3 lowbie area., that's only 27 kills at 190 xp a pop to take a skill from 0 to 40.
