    the DUST . .

I know I am going to catch all hell for this (since I am such an advocate for "play the Game") But . .

I am not all that skilled yet I have nor reached 40 in any skill. I burned a lot of my EXP specifically to raise Immolate Weapon so I can use the fire tree effectively as a Archer.

SO I go to Upper Fortus, it is a Tier 3 Area -

And I let me pet kill a Mage (Tier Three Level), I did nothing used no exp for any skills and only got 190 pooled earned exp for a Tier 3 Kill. 190 earned Exp for a Tier 3???????

Sorry but that is WAY to low. I know how to manage my skills and I can always just lock everything to gain pooled exp but 190 points for a tier 3 kill is . . . .

I know go ahead flame me for it but . . . .

I personally think it's working just fine. I would, however, like it if they brought back the daily experience bonus, as that really helped casual gamers.

At this point we are in sandbox, so there is no rush to achieve greatness. It sounds cliche, but it really is about the journey. The only end is quitting.

The XP gained does need a minor tweak.

I spent two rounds grinding in kingsroad (load up encumbrance, sell, repeat) and my ranged combat skill was already level 40. To me that seems to fast for an hour of playing....

In all seriousness though, I agree it is extremely painful especially since our only real way to advance is to grind without the storylines being finished.

Did you say your Pet made the kill? Is the XP determined in any way by how much damage you do -- if 2 are dealing damage to the Mob, and one does 75% and the other 25%, does the one doing only 25% of the total damage get smaller amount of the total available Xp for that kill?

nope you get credit for pet kills, tested asd verified.
All it really means is you better manage your skills intelligently, somthign I am a very strong advocate for, but I still think it is a little low.

I apologize for this but it is kind of tied to what your talking about.
I understand the dings for using stuff, you get to 20/40 and you can buy the next skill level. But how does the XP I keep seeing from quests figure in?

I might be misunderstanding your question, but quest xp goes into your pool and is used exactly the same as your xp from killing things afaik. It also counts towards your adv level the same.

Quests just add to your pool , it is nothing but a boost to the pool :)

i think things could use a little tweaking (in the positive exp gained direction)

Maybe tier 3 is off, but tier 1 is working reasonably balanced it seems. Though as a brand new character with 10 in bludgeon to start, I never used a heal spell once, even with 3 skels or wolves. Seemed a bit too easy. Was 40 bludgeon in 25 minutes.

Thought it was a little low myself... was told it all in my head ;):oops::rolleyes:o_O But I agree, the way people power game the crap out of SotA, in the past releases, I'd rather it be like this and tweak upwards slightly. Last cycle I had 1 GM, many had 20, 30 and 50+ GM's crazy.

Yeah, it looks like they missed an adjustment somewhere. 190 xp per kill when you need millions ... that's not gonna work.

It's really not a good idea to nerf everything at persistence. All of these adjustments should have been made in R30 or R31 to get accurate feedback before final wipe.

I don't think that's really representative of the xp mobs are giving right now though. That might be just an isolated incident of something that doesn't give as much as it should or something modifying the xp gain.

I have put in a lot of time playing the last couple of days and it seems close to what I expected based on the previous releases. If anything maybe a little faster.

edit: Large desert wolf in South Grunvald gives 725 xp fwiw.

Ok so I go to this different tier 3, North Narnyard Pinelands and start wandering around I lock every single skill and get 200 exp a kill so I go and try and train ONE innate in ranged, and it eats up more than I earn, why this is not to difficult or two easy for me but I get no bonus.

Please do not go , you didn't lose you used, I know what happened what I am saying is there is NO benefit to not lock every single skill to gain LARGE pool and train later faster and more efficiently.

This needs MASSIVE balancing to make it so the players can stay with the Gamers.

I am seeing the same thing, definitely needs a bit of balancing and we can only hope it comes retroactively... feeling like I'm being robbed of some hard earned XP
