Does taming affect it as well?

See i knew ure numbers were off.
Whats your stats on an obsidian bear? and i can incorporate my numbers.

I was under impression summoning was the actual strength of the pet .. (based on a creature level system.. ) And combat just increased that .. thought both were overall the level of your pet..
i would love a better break down tho or explination, but yea health on my pets has gone up as ive increased summoning.

In fact.. my Fero Wolf spider has 377 health right now (11 less then your red who is LEVELS past it)

Thats at 91 summoning, 76 Combat passive.

Reading the tool tips is confusing..
Combat is - +13 Tame Level Bonuse

Summoning is 86 - Tamed Creature Max Level

Is this a %? Is summoning the Max it can be strong, while combat is what level it is currently?
I wish a dev would explain the calculations better. Either way, i know both are important for strength of a pet.

I have just raised my summoning from 79 to 80, and i have seen no change in the hp of the spider, still at 382

My obsidian bear's hp has 445 hp and 438 focus and drains 224.8 focus

    My taming stats are:
    Taming 100
    Heal creature 56 (don't use)
    Summoning 80
    Obedience 40
    Collar recovery 41
    Combat training 93 gives a +15
    concentration 91
    Refresh 80

If you look at the summoning tool tip, i feel like it takes a few before it actually counts as a real level ( i also just went from 91 to 92 to test) no change.. but i DO notice a change as you go.

I will post in about 8 min with my Obsid bear stats to better compare.

438 health on my obsid bear.

Man that fero red seems like his health is grossly under what it should be?
That being said.. the max on the 2 is about the same upon taming.. fero is just significantly higher level ( so probly more effective as you have summoning and combat higher)

Got the runt of the spider sac it seems, figures! I will increase summoning more and see if it raises...
It might have something to do with your adventurer level as well, i think mine is close to 80...not in game now so cant find out....

    Correct!!

I raised my summoning to 81, and i got 3 extra hp for my spider. The effective Tamed creature max level went up from i think 80.9 to 81.4

My Bear now has.....445 hp...the same.

So it seems the bear is likely at max level, even though the tool tip for the summoning states still at 81.4% Tamed creature level, and i would have assumed that the pet would only reach max level when this was at 100...Still a little confused but summoning does raise HP of the higher level spider at least.

I have a suspicion - and it's nothing more than that so may well be wrong - that each creature type also has a 'cap' of maximum hp/focus it can reach, regardless of the tamer's or owner's skills.

Correct. At that point you would have to get a more powerful creature to get out the maximum of your Taming skills.

If you can, push for 121 as it will give you a 3% chance to tame the red. I cant exactly remember but I think it was 400k to 600k per level in the high teens and the low 120's.
