It won't affect my willingness to take risks at all. I'm good at running away when things get too heated! ;)

When did i say this was my playstyle? I do like to play efficient as well, but it's a given you will lose that xp at one point, unless you never die, so i'm not bothered by it at all. *shrugs*

yes, but the attunement boost is in shield of crystal now, not earth's embrace.

Thank you Chris for the details.

I just have to say to the comment about players leaving because of changes. If people leave it is their prerogative and hopefully they won't, but if they do I'd have to say they are misinformed or mistaken in what is going on here. A game in development will encompass many changes as we see how things work and also what works and what doesn't work. Then it get fixed and fixed again with other changes. It is very complex and detailed and not for the faint-hearted. ;)

edited and sorry for being lecturing again.

Another thing regarding melee, did not @Chris state in another thread melee would get it's turn. If I'm wrong so be it, but I did think I read this somewhere.

Its an alpha.. with releases every month .. 6 months before they considering full release.
If your not expecting changes then .... yea =P

That being said, the devs are at least pretty good for getting back to people about thoughts on changes, and even change things sometimes. Could definitly be worse. =)

Yes, melee people will get a boost next release and magic will take a small hit. More specifically, low to mid level non-ranged melee people will get a boost. Some of the highest DPS people in the game right now are high level melee people. They will probably see a minor boost.

BTW, patch 1 is uploading now to fix the critical hits....again. :/

With a bit of leg work. There are at least 3 degrees of skill pool.

The glyphs in a school require the least exp to level 100.

The innates in a school are the next expensive to 100.

Stat skills are the most expensive.

I forget on what magnitude but it's easy enough to figure out.

Level one skill in any of the three categories and you will see that each level requires about 10% more than the last level.

If you can get a really accurate reading of exp required in a skill from level 1 to 20 you should be able to do the math to level 200.

Open the spoiler in the OP to see some numbers.

Rather than someone making us a chart so we can consult it then manually calculate the xp for each skill, then multiply that by the skill decay calculation, how about giving us a Decay Count in our skill window...

If not that then can someone who can actually be arsed doing maths if the Devs can't be (@Chris), make us a decay chart?

Stop botching the critical hits! (aka thanks for all the hard work) 8^p

So what use is earth's embrace now? I thought the whole offset to the slow movement WAS the boost in attunement in addition to the rest of it. (stuck at work so I can't check it out on my own)

Thanks. Not sure that the resistance boost is worth the negative to movement. Will probably avoid leveling this beyond necessary.

@Chris can Concentration be renamed in either the Taming tree or the Focus tree since now the two skills have the same name?

PvP is not supposed to cause decay. Only PvE.

@Chris So if I die 20 times in one hour, does that mean I take 20 hits of the 0.0001 decay? Or does it scale with minutes since last death?

How does decay work in offline mode when I die and reload a savegame?

Are you even sure that decay is enabled in offline mode? This is intended for multi-player balance.

Its not Change, Is dead Penalty!

All the games that have a dead penalty, to have a toll on your time will scare players away. And it will also scare new players no one likes their time and money mess up!!!!

Yes I understand this, but this not a released game yet. True it seems this way, but ongoing changes are necessary to finding the sweet spots of enjoyment. I don't always like them, but I will chill with them and test them out a while before I rally for more changes and of course I am not always right. ;)

I've been here since 2013 and yikes that is an awfully long time to see change after change and then rally for more changes because those changes are not working out. Truly I get where you are coming from, but we are at the home stretch we have to impact the game play to be enjoyable, interesting, and fun right now. Many of those people who cannot deal with that are sitting on the side lines.

Making poor decisions that take away from the game being a good game when it is done, will be very bad for the game. I cannot stress enough that this game is a testing ground and I say we must listen to all discussions to get this game in the best workable order before release, and also that we diligently provide feedback for the development team to assist them with their choices from our feedback is very important. If you have feedback for changes that will make this game more fun then I say present it, but not just I don't like it. We are a battleground for the good of the game ;)
