And the value of my digital addons are now threatening to overtake the cost of my pledge - ack. Couldn't resist - mining & forging armor and weapons in RuneScape. The repair bonus is also a nice extra.

Did you get all of the Prosperity items? You know you have to get them all or you won't feel complete :p

Nice thing is they are putting a system in place to let you "melt" add-on items and put the money into other add-ons or to your overall pledge. Trick is, this won't be in place for a while...

    Hammer + 1, crafting ftw!

It is slightly irksome that purchasing items individually has worked out more expensive than the bundles, melting is good but unlikely to help with the Holiday items as an example in the next four days.

Oh well, supports game development and that is a good thing!

I know, I can't help myself and pretty much have to buy these things as they put them on the store :) So, I'm looking forward to it in a month or so to "fix" things...

It is nice that they've started adding dates indicating how long something will be available.

I have the funny feeling that after collecting all those nice tools in Smack's list, the next thought that will come to mind will be " ok, now I need a house" o_O

I thought the Hoe of Prosperity was funny, but the Pot of Prosperity rivals it.

I look at a list like this and I know Portalarium is going to go this route. When I pledged (Knight Founder), I did so to help fund a Lord British game -- not a huckster business model that exploits a consumer's expectations of perceived advantages.

To be perfectly transparent, yes, I had purchased the prosperity 6-pack, but now I am really beginning to question my entire support for this game.

I think the trick is to specialize. I really don't like farming or harvesting wild herbs or skinning (dead)animals so am not likely to get any tool sets geared for that purpose. On the other hand cracking rocks with a pickaxe, refining the ore into bars [Runescape] and forging the parts of a bronze metal crossbow then assembling the components (usually buy the bowstrings) is such a rewarding experience for me that I"m willing to buy special tools for this.

For all the rest of the stuff that I either don't really enjoy doing, the regular ingame tools are just fine. People spend ridiculous amounts for the hobbies that they do enjoy, the more so because they enjoy these activities with friends. The real question for anybody is - how much is SOTA worth to you? For me, it's not worth a house yet but as soon as Portalarium delivers on the next major set of goals I"ll be seriously considering upgrading my pledge to Royal Artisan.

Ever since they released the first Prosperity item, I expected even more up through launch. But I think most people expect those Prosperity items will go away post-launch. It will be interesting to see if they still sell items that give any advantage whatsoever in the store post-launch. I think it's pretty obvious how everyone here will react and even more so with the gaming public.

But as far as purely decorative items, they can put 1000's of items in there for $1-$5 each and let people show off new clothing for their avatars or pets, and new dishes and spoons for their houses all they want. Or they can try and craft them if they have the time, or buy them in-game from other players. I see nothing wrong with selling purely decorative items.
