Heart of Vrul - where to find???

Is there anybody could tell where to find the Heart of Vrul?

It's a rare drop from the demon Tharsis Vrul (sp?). He spawns behind a secret wall in Solania catacombs. I believe there are demons in other locations too, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

 

It drops off of mobs that also drop all sorts of orbs, instruments, rings, and other artifacts -- such as imps. But its a relatively rare loot drop, while I believe its supposed to be more common off of daemons.

Besides some of the underworld scenes, there are some daemons in Paladis shardfall, too.

There is also one at the bottom of The Fall(PvP Zone)

I saw one drop once, when I was partied, in The Rise, but it is a pretty rare drop. Hell, it's a rare drop on Daemons as well. Farmed the Daemon in Solania Catacombs for hours and nada.

 

Any tips about Daemons?
What makes them die fast?

 

Not archery, that's for sure.

[EDIT: To be fair, it probably had more to do with light armor not keeping me alive long enough for archery to do its job.]

 

For a melee it's pretty similar to fighting a troll. Jumping avoids some of their attacks and using a jump ring gives you more margin for error. If you avoid standing in front of him you can usually get through the fight without taking much damage. If you're not careful and you get knocked down you can get stun locked to death though.

 

You can just buy it too. It's in like every marketplace.

 

If you get in close, does he not teleport you as often? That was my main problem; he'd teleport me away, then hit me with ranged attacks.

Does poison work on daemons?

 

It helps with slowing his regen.

 

Does the damage part work? If so then Fiona FitzOwen's crossbow + corpion poison FTW.

 

I haven't gone after her crossbow. Obviously it sounds good based on your statement, but what does it actually do?

 

It's a triple crossbow. Each regular shot is split into three. It's like death by a thousand tiny cuts but when you add corpion poison (and flurry and haste) then it gets serious.

 

Hm. Don't suppose I could apply a pattern to it? (Not that it would stop me, but I just got that nifty metal crossbow from the Sky Navy rewards...)

 

I won the roll for a Heart of Vrul in Upper Tears a few weeks ago.

 

Patterns don't work on it.

 

Yes, the poison damage does work. Not sure how Fiona's Crossbow works with poisons though as I haven't tried it.
