I think the oracle is just based on programming that makes its judgments based on cold mechanical logic that someone has abused into a monkey’s-paw style scenario

The avatar in this game has instances where it has to decide, is it ok to lie to protect a life? Is it ok to help a thief if he is repenting against his clan’s actions? The oracle says “lie is bad” and “helping thief is bad”

how can i also get +5 str, +5 dex, +5 int ? O_O how do i keep my virtue up? i didn't even know i was doing anything to keep it up... do i need to do more quests?

 

Congratulations, Woodchuck - Its tougher than it looks eh? I remember when I finished the 3 virtue paths, and then found out I had to also now do path of oracle, yeesh.

You know you can consult the oracle regarding your virtue? Courage, Love, Truth.

 

The bonuses depend entirely on your Truth, Courage and Love virtues. There was a thread somewhere on here about how to raise each but I don't remember where.

 

tough doesn't begin to describes it!

getting the shroud was a royal pain in my butt. i almost gave ups!

freeing sir patrick from the kobold camp, i dunno how i survive dat arena fight.

spending hours trying to find stupid npc when map does not work and no hint as to where exactly they are in the damn town.

then when you find the npc, they ask you to be a gopher to fetch and deliver things for them for hours.

and then near the end fighting off countless waves of fire and earth elementals at the obsidian forge, killing the mobs as fast as i could and then opening the blacksmith window only to be interrupted by more hoards of fire elementals... it's a miracle i didn't throw my computer out the window -_-

 

Well, that part should have come naturally at least!

 

We didn't need in game maps in the old days. When men were men and women were glad of it !

 

@Woodchuck your description of the effort to earn your shroud was so great to me. It made me smile as I remembered the time it took to get mine and how hard it was. You have made my day today for you have accomplished part of the game that is so basic and yet not everyone completes. Thank you for sharing this with us. I, for one, needed to hear your words and see your pictures.
