I would consider it a huge breach of trust and security if you exposed Any account names in this manner.

even if those 'witnesses' are folks that are trustworthy like andernut or winfield, both of which i KNOW respect privacy to the Nth degree, i'd consider it a breach of trust, as well as security.. not the kind of 2 factor authentication i was thinking of :)

It's not that hard to hide columns in Excel or Google Sheets.... Right-click on a column head or series of heads->Hide. The winning names will be released to the public, right? That's the only column a witness would need to see.

    good point, that would work.

from my understanding they are using account names, not avatar names (or forum names). for example, i'm thuri here, but i may not be thuri in game and i may be even a third name on my account website. - so yeah, your idea above about hiding them would work on each data source. problem is, the witnesses wouldn't even be needed if they don't see the data that would constitute the privacy breach, now would it?

personally, i think the whole witness thing is an exercize in futility for the devs, and isn't worth the time - just do the thing and we should trust that they aren't peeking at the list and cherry picking who gets it or who doesn't. - i trust in that, do you?
