Hey there back again for another scene update. I was tasked with Brittany Alleys, which is another neighborhood of the Brittany kingdom. This section of land is dedicated to having an urban environment that has a bunch of player houses / plots, so we have more chances to increase our Brittany Citizen population. This is a place for immigrants to live and work. Factories are here to provide jobs and a harbor for exporting goods. I was inspired by New York City and London.

Have a gander at the progress so far.

Wow! It looks great. Little surprised to see the pledge row houses being used in so many places as default houses on row lots, since players get to use whatever house is on there if they choose. Unless that is a new similar looking design?

@SeleneNoctua These are just placeholder houses until someone buys it up and puts in whatever Rowhouse they want.

@redfish Yep, they are smokestacks. Need to actually make the particle smoke tomorrow before I start wrapping up this scene.

Nice work. The theme is spot on for industrial . Don't forget the sooty sky line with all those smokestacks.

Nice layout. Felt a little like Ardoris with the hanging flags and row houses at first. I wonder if different flag on strings can be used in Brittany vs Ardoris and different lanterns etc?

It's hard to make towns really have a unique flair when players pick the housing I know and all you have is POI's and landmarks.

I like the 'industrial' look to Brittany Alley.

For other size lots, the placeholder goes away. With row lots, when you buy the lot, the row house tends to stay there unless something changed.

I was confused by the Ardoris assets at first until I saw the hand scribbled note on the map that one neighborhood is meant to be Ardoris themed.

Also, now we have two statues that we don't know who they are.

There is a knight with a sword, and that man with a triangle on his forehead. I might have to think of backstories for both...

Is that an Obsidian eye in the triangle?

Not sure, but I don't think so. The Oracle Eye tends to be round with a vertical slit/pupil.

I'm guessing they may have used an asset from the Unity store for a quick statue.

When looking at the buildings many of the towns pretty much look the same with a kind of generic look, doesn't seem to be any regional style. Especially once players place their own housing.

One town stood out for me as being unique looking was Kiln especially the way player housing was kept away from the main part of the town.

    Nice work @RrMatey

Its nice to see more of a Row focused housing zone.....

Being urban will we see more rats running around?

I've made repeated suggestions and requests about this.

One idea is to have regional color schemes. If you place a house in that region, it gets a palette/texture swap for what you place it.

The other idea is themed housing aimed at a city sold at a discount that can only be placed in that city/region. So you'd see housing aimed at Norgard or housing aimed at Ardoris or the Hidden Vale. You get it cheap, but are restricted where you can place it.

    I'm sure @Budner will visit.

    j/k

I think it would be really cool; but rats would come out more often at night and at twilight, not during the day. They'd have sewer grates they'd spawn from.
