Currently and unfortunately, probably. My blades are 160 and I have a lot of 150s. Laughable how uneven fights are right now against death shield archers.

 

I was answering a question someone asked. I dont ask for more, in fact I am opposite of that. I kept asking for things for the new players. If we dont get new players to stay, that is no good.

If you dont want or need to be the best, or comparable, then why do you even care what someone else is doing? Why you asking for caps? Cant we all just do what we want to and just have fun? Now, if you want a skill capped game, there are TONS of them out there. This was not that type of game. Dont go to mcdonalds and ask for a whopper, and expect them to change all their grills to flame broilers just to appease you. Other people might not like the change. Just go to burger king to get your whoppers.

 

That is why I've been saying Shardfalls should be leveled per tier, with a lvl 40, 80, 100, 120, and unlimited tiers, that could even out the playing field, make it more fair for newer-ish players, and give you guys more players to fight.

 

No, but understand that if you are in the 120's (which is easy to do) or so, you might need a cpl of friends. It's also as much about tactics as skill a lot of times. A year ago if you weren't at least 100, it was the same situation. The bar has moved as people have gotten stronger, but the good news is, the 'soft cap' is now not far off, there will be lots more people 'catching up' than there will be 'top elite' players.

But what about all the other skills you need to make it work? If those are all high, then what about the tactics that you employ? Running straight at me, or running away from me is not a good tactic. I know melee can be viable against archer, i've seen it over and over with Antrax, Crowquillz, Vespers, and others. What's the missing ingredient?

 

And just how does torpid torment do anything to an archer using charged attack? It costs 0 focus, therefore torpid is going to deal 0 damage. As well, even when I am with sara and 6 stack a level 140 fireflies for 118.8% crit damage and his level 150 bezerker stance and 110+ in tactics spec, does not hit 1000 with a thrust, has to be close and it costs focus.

I guess if you dont run at or away from an archer, they just fall over and die for you? NO, they just keep shooting you, if your melee you have to get close, you have to run at your target.

 

Hopefully any changes will be separate for PVE and PVP.

 

OMG, he said death shield, DEATH SHIELD, you know, the one that negates 80% of the damage from physical at level 140 5 stacked.

 

Man have you never PvP'd? Just use Torpid Torment!

 

This is exactly what I want to do and I don't want to get nerfed every 3 months. I don't use special gear and I've spent many hours trying to get my avatar to a level where I can do a bit harder content. I don't want to farm my life away in order to keep my avatar equipped with elite gear that quickly wears out.

Really? 80%? Because at 110, a 5 stack gives me 35.4%.

 

Maybe that's with Death spec?

 

At 100 with Death spec 6 stacked it would give me 34% so I'm not sure Death spec chances so much. I had 210 Attunement at the time too, so maybe they have way higher attunement and Spec so it makes it stronger, but I think Macs statement is an overstatement a bit, but still Death Shield is very strong vs physical, and Air shield can be insane for archers, doubt it is any different in PvE, I mean UT is usually filled with archers, I mean an 8 man group usually has 3-4 archers, 2 mages, and 2 "I'm just here to Leech cause melee is useless here".

Even I, I had to change my build around to tank better to feel somewhat helpful in UT because I dont want to Mage/Archer it up

 

Spec and attunement only affect duration. Why would melee be useless?

 

Specialization gives you one more stack too.

 

It mitigates 35.4% and then heals for 35.4%, so, you double what the tooltip says.
