    Hello, everyone I am new to town but have been around the block a time or two. Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am very excited about this community and this game. I just secured me a "Ancestor's" pledge which I am proud of. I plan on upgrading to citizen asap and and then onto knight. lol

    Anyways nice to meet you all and it's great to see all of the enthusiasm here. It's really what sealed the deal for me and got me to pledge. I got burned pretty bad in the past on a pre launched game so let's hope this works out for all of us.

    Been a UO player since 97 and still play demise freeshard to date as well. Just stoped playing EsO and then I seen markee dragon video on SotA and wondered how the hell I didn't know about this project. When I heard that Lord Garriot was leading the way, I had to do some research. So here I am along side the rest of you to march into the next future of gaming "fell in love at first sight with SotA"

    It is my only hopes that they really try and capture the old feeling most of us here know only Ultima Online would give someone. Added with all this new story and technology with this new platform.

    "I know this isn't Ultima Online but I hope it is it's baby!"

    Welcome Phenom to Shroud of the Avatar. Well you never know since we are in the middle of development, but as you are here longer you will see that there are opportunities to impact what is in game or not. I can't say that it IS Ultima or it's baby because
    it isn't, but many of us who are here rally for so many features we loved from Ultima to be in game. So what particularly are you hoping to see that is from Ultima?

    1 question is there a over world view map? I see the over view but looks so big that it would take along time to find all the little towns and what not

    The only maps available at this time are specific to each town/area and are items you purchase from some vendors. From memory it is one of the vendors in Kingsport.

    Have a look here - Hidden Vale Map to get yourself familiar with the layout.

    Right now the whole game is confined to a tiny island (Hidden Vale) off the mainland (Novia).

    There is a portal in Owl's Head which will get you to a few locations on the mainland, but we can't leave those areas to explore Novia yet. Stepping through the exit will get us back to Owl's Head. The portal cycles through the different locations so wait till it cycles to the one you want to get to, and step through.

    There is also a boat to a large city in the mainland (Ardoris), which is where all the row houses are located, from Kingsport docks (and another boat to a housing area there too, but nothing is there except for a bunch of fancy houses).

    The Hidden Vale is a small island where most of the pre-release takes place. There is also the mainland of Novia.

    Phenom there are small boats in Kingsport to take you to a few locations. Also there is a teleportal system in owlshead that takes you to a few locations but beware of creatures there. I suggest getting enough money to start out by killing and selling and get augmented plate at a vendor in owlshead or in other towns too. you can plan what you want to do later, but it is good to be protected at first. Just hit 'z' key to enter combat and 'z' key to exit. We will gladly help or come in game to help if you need let us know.
