I have hundreds of things from the past 2 years (add on store, telethon, etc... I horde everything) sitting in chests just waiting to go on my vendor for sale for gold. My plan is to simply wait a few years and then maximize my in game gold profit.

That's a good plan only if the game grows (population), without demand, our supply has no value. Without a buyer you can't get back the money you spent in the past.

Basically, the value of all we have now depends on those factors we can't control now. Sell now or wait, risk game :D

Did you even read it. Your words. You were paying for 6 accounts. Not sure what kind of math you can do. But 10x 6 is $60. It's $550 for a tax free village lot and tax free vendor! Reading is your friend.

Yeah, someone did mention it. The point wasn't really to "screw" the rich. It was to make everything more accessible to players. If they want to hoard things to sell later, that's fine. With a gold zero-out at launch, everyone will still need to make the gold to pay for their hoarded items. Consider it a one-last opportunity to get that "head start."

I don't get why you make Suggestions that you know wont ever happen, ever.

It won't happen, Period. For so many various reasons that i cant even be bothered to list, because EVERYONE know why.

This is how the game is, and it wont change. RMT is a part of every single game there is lately , because its how it works nowadays, like it or not.
People who spend RL Money doesnt effect YOUR gameplay in any way, at all.

If people can have a better house than you faster, because they spend Money, doesnt mean that it effect your gameplay.

The end game part ( Depending on who you ask ) is NOT something you can buy with Money.

Every part of the game is availible for everyone, no matter if you spend RL Money or not. Every. Single. Part.

At the end of the day, this game's economy has already been fundamentally broken. Taxable vs Tax-Free Deeds are one of the largest economy breakers in the game. I was fortunate enough to win a POT deed in an early raffle through in-game gold. Despite benefiting from the raffle, I honestly wish the deeds were outright able to be purchased with in game gold, but the devs are more concerned with access to lots for real money purchased deeds than they are with access to deeds for players who try to earn their way in game. The current system just feeds on itself though.

Tax-Free Deed is basically a free 500 gold per day at row level. Over 30 days is 15k compared to someone maintaining a row lot. That is an NPC and a POT raffle ticket.
I am currently maintaining a town lot with the deed I won. That is 2k gold per day. Which is 60K over the course of a month, some savings available through finding people selling COTOs.

I am not against working to earn that gold to maintain my property. However, that extra 60K worth that tax-free lot holders could potentially get away with affects the market prices and expected values of pretty much everything else in the game. I know more people with tax-free primary holdings than I do people without. It really makes it feel like I am playing the game with extra weights compared to everyone else. So I can agree it is broken.

That said, the outrage of any kind of reset at present would shrink the player base so much as to ruin the already fragile multiplayer aspect. Which would in turn ruin the line of funding that allows for continued development on the game. Selling all cash shop items at a rate of 3500 gold per $1 in game would be a great option for those of us without much expendable income, but it also creates an issue with the tax-free deeds. The people with the most IRL cash have the most in-game earning potential due to lack of tax, and that earning potential would allow them to buy items with in game gold as well. When the people most likely to cash shop are the most likely to get stuff without the cash shop, it also creates a funding problem.

Very much painted into a corner already.

Its not an investment. Most of it is simply stuff that I had on my Keep lot and house before I sold it. Telethon items are easy to accumulate for $5 when you have an alt. There is no "investing" in a video game unless you are insane. Its like when I go to the casino, I walk into it with a set dollar amount in my pocket and I expect to lose it all and nothing more.

It's really easy to say, for convenience, that the P2W argument has no merit in this conversation. That is, if we forget that real estate is the most coveted thing in the game and is not currently available in the game.

It's interesting how people came here to land rush, yet will completely deny that part of being successful in the game is owning property.

See adding examples to that would be a good thing, But true, one can't make their own fireworks (game stopping I know), can't make your own emotes either!!

The initial buy-in would still be required. Though really, I would expect the power-gamer to not have to pay extra. If anyone is able to earn their own way in the game, it is those with the time to play and participate in the world.

This statement is in conflict with your previous statement. If every aspect of the game can be played with the minimal account, then how are we expecting power gamers to need to pay anything with the current system?

THIS statement is the one that always upsets me. Who has decided this? Tax Free lots are certainly Pay To Win by most standards. But beyond that, the very concept of pay to win cannot begin until we determine what winning is. In a sandbox multiplayer environment I would argue that the acquisition of cool stuff to show off is winning. The best looking everything is accessible in the cash shop and must be purchased from the cash shop or through a player who is reselling from the cash shop for in game gold.

Given my personal goals of having 'A Cool Player House', the game is very much Pay to Win. If you define winning as reaching the apex of character skills levels, then it is not so strongly P2W. But that isn't really my end game. So I don't consider that to be winning the game.

EDIT: I should clarify that I am not demanding change. I understand that the game requires funding to reach completion and changing these things now would provide serious risk to that end. However, I am willing to admit that the rock is a rock and not try to claim it is gold. I am making the most of my rock and will continue doing so.

Nope, you can't craft deeds either, right?

Stop spreading false information to suit your own agenda.

Property is availible to everyone in the game without spending a single dollar ( Raffle , and various vendors thruout the game )

Every single part of the game, crafting - housing - pvp - pve, questing etc is availible to everyone without paying a single dollar, as long as you are prepared to put effort in.

EDIT: Not to mention the ability to rent property of part of them from other players . And before you try to claim that " people with rl money gain from it " , that is totally irellevant since you get the game experience you want, stop caring about how others experience are.

Right because they help FUND the game. And if the game is profitable, there will be more land available on other continents with other unknown opportunities.

A rental system has been developed to help players find livable housing. I'd estimate that over 90% of those landlords are not charging anything or ever will. You get secure storage and the ability to deco your own area with the new tenet system. Improvements on that will be coming.

The ability to build an IGG market for lots and houses. And seems to be working fine.

For those with enough time on their hands are the taxable lot deeds. Row and village very affordable. Town/City where never meant for one player to own, geared more towards guilds.

No there wouldn't be if it was made in payments as many early backers were able to do. That's why I request we bring back payment plans. No matter what is being said on this thread this game will always need funding. I disagree with money arguments for this particular game. The fact is to develop this game will always need funding.

Those are the facts. Crying about it will not change that fact. Yes it can be a surprise to find this out for new people and hard for original backers to realize this is the funding model we all signed up for and will continue to be the funding model to develop. There is no rich company company backing this game. We are backing this game. And Yay if we now got a very rich backer to support all we each want for this game. I can only dream about this happening. What we have to deal with is the decision to make housing in this game became the huge money maker to support the start up of this game. That is the facts.

Trying to diminish the funding model of this game only hurts future development. I have suggested and offered that things may change one day and still the money conversations go on and on and on.

How about raising funds for properly coding this game so we can get the rewards system it deserved? I want the budget for the game I want. I don't want to hear we have no budget for that. I did not back this game to hear that. So of course I do not like this conversation. I want every one to back the game and provide funding or don't back it and then don't gripe about it. But people still continue to start these conversations that contribute imo nothing to getting our world alive and that takes money. Real money. I want it for this game.

I have no patience for the unconstructive theme of this thread. It is inappropriate to getting needed cash to this project and while I feel interesting new ideas for the cash shop are always needed, housing will stay for now an illusive dream for those who don't pay for it. This is not that game. Consider the options, rent, buy, or raffle. These are your choices.
