Non-citizen backers being virtually ignored

I think for a lot of us we simply make the opportunity to help with something interesting. You might ask yourself how you might make your own interests into something you can here. Or maybe promote some ideas you like.. (ie more clothes, dancing etc).

 

Like what I'm doing with heraldry, for example?

 

Saw an opportunity and jumped right in.

 

If you expected more for your money than what you payed for you're wrong the end.

Here's a really fun game. Take every thread title and add to the end something like, "especially as it relates to PvP" or simply "and PvP". Yeah you can go there with anything - it's fun - try it!

 

Were you one of the first 10,000 backers? (First Responder package then the additional from Second Responder) If so, I would like to point out $150 during that period lets you into the Early Bird Alpha version, which is right around the corner.

 

So people who pledged before... May 20-something was it? Get the "Early Bird Alpha"? When is that? When is the Alpha for people who recently pledged?

I'd also like to add that this community seems to be filled with fewer... "Entitled" minded people. You guys know who I mean. Those people that whine and complain on forums because they demand certain things they may not deserve, or want something for nothing. I'm glad to see so many friendly faces.

I agree with you 100%.
We signed on for Shroud of The Avatar~Forsaken Virtue, and it appears what we got was Shroud of The Realtor~Forsaken Virtue. 'Forsaken Virtue' being the only thing that hasn't changed, so it can't really be claimed that there was much false advertising.

Now posting any kind of thread which doesn't cater to the whims and wants of the big money backers will have many of the active community members and high dollar backers (aka. The High Lords of Ultima) rally against you and pick your thread apart to cow you into your place as a peasant while patting each other on the back as they build comradery amongst thier micro-community.

Those who've spent a lot (as in a lot) of money will defend thier expendature even against other community members in an effort to "protect thier investment", unless you are singing the same toon and dancing to the same beat you will be pushed off the stage .

 

If you want more information or feel there is an area that is unclear, be heard, say what it is in the forum and by the look of it you will have a rapid and very personal response, pledge or otherwise. The $150 pledge you have made represents fantastic value and by the look so far will provide a lot of entertainment as each game launches in the coming months/ years. The updates indicate clear progress and commitment what is not to like!

After further consideration, I too think there is validity to the pledging neglect to none "Citizens".

I plan to pledge to the "Explorer" level for the time being. With it one gets two full length standalone games, Full size cloth map (nastalgia), and a Old-school style illustraded printed manual. Now those are pretty good rewards.

In the next pledge level the "Collector" the only new thing one gets is a physical copy of the Runic Language Traslation Print. Not much to tempt me there.

In the next level, the "Patron" one primarily get ones name listed in a book and a digital framed cirtificate to indicate same to hang in you game house... if you have one. Oh, ones avatar gets the honorific title of "Patron" too. Really not much of a reward.

In the "Ancestor" level... well we get the privelege of having our characters name placed on a tombstone. Come on... who came up with these things?

Ok... next I can pledge $100 more for the avatar title of "Navigator" and a Cloth map signed by Richard Gariott. Sorry Richard, not very rewarding again.

On the ohter hand, at the "Citizen" level one finally gets some worthwhile rewards. Rent free Village Level Property Deed, Commisson free Vendor, Benefactor Citizens's home (for pre-launch backers), and a 1-Story, Village Stone Basement. Now those are some good rewards!

One can clearly see why many feel slighted that pledge below the "Citizen" level. Much of the prior levels are simply pathetic in comparison.

What are these "Episodes"? Single player campaigns?

 

No, they are releasing this as 5 indervidual games, Forsaken virtues is just the first game in the Quintet. So for 150 (or even the late adopters for 165) actually get FIVE games
