Once the Player Owned Town has been completed and the Name chosen is on the map what is next? Do I wait to be contacted or is there a next step to be taken that I have missed somewhere along the way?

There will be two towns types. Static and dynamic. It depends if you would like to place the lots(dynamic) or have the devs build a pre-formatted town with placed lots(static).

To get the ball rolling start on your account page and click the hyperlink on your town.

Tantalus Consortium did a manual to help you walk through the process:

Dont hesitate to reach out to a POT community leader to answer any other questions. You can always pm me if you hit a snag.

Please bump the Submission form thread if you find it useful so others in your situation can see it. Good Luck!

If the town is not already in-game (meaning you've gone to the spot on the map yourself and checked) then you have keep reading the Patch Notes to see when new towns have been entered. Typically they will add the most towns during a full release, so if you haven't seen it in-game yet, you're probably looking at R22 at the earliest.

I do not see where I make a choice between Dynamic town and Static town

    Towns are dynamic by default.

They are only made static if the devs need to add something custom to your scene (such as Arx Draconis' Statue, or Dara Brae's Giant Tree).

If you did not ask for anything of that nature, you will use a dynamic system. :)

Thank you. So, then, how do I add specific lots to my town. Do you have a link to the lot selection application that was spoken about several weeks back?

I didnt ask for a tree or that kind of thing. However, I asked for a waterfall and a cave so maybe that is why I have not received info on lot placements. Thank you for your help.

    Could be.

For dynamic towns, once your town is available in-game, it is up to the user themselves to place the lots using in-game tools (hence the term dynamic). It is not necessary to involve the devs in that aspect.

If you have indeed requested something custom/unique, the devs will most likely contact you once they start processing your application. :)

Are you asking how to actually place your lots Jacqueline?
If so, there are lot markers that you can get from your bank. Then simply just drag and drop anywhere there is flat land within your PoT. At least that is how it works in dynamic towns.

Well, now I am just checking out possible lot placement which is quite fun except I can not get a water lot of any size to stay put. Is there a secret to putting it down. I have tried to place it over open water, over land and water, over land only but next to the water. No matter where I place it the outer edges of lot will not turn green but remains red no matter what I do or where I stand or where I click. Does anyone know the answer?

Yep, they are pretty tricky. Have you checked your bank for a map of your town? If you have the island template like me then it should be an item called (something like): "Map of Island Town".

On that map it shows you all the areas (green boxes) where you can place lots. You will see that there are only a few places where water lots can be placed.

No problem. I found it a bit frustrating too. Took me a long time to get a water lot placed.

Feel free to add me in-game too.

I seem to be able to place homes but so far have had no luck in placing the water lots. I do have the map and no mater how I click the placement block for the water lots whether the row, town or city they will not turn green but stay red. Is there some special way to get them there. I also can place 3 of the NPC buildings but the other 3 will not stay for some reason. Are there specific places they must be placed like the house lots do?

    Hi Jacqueline,

I am like you just trying to get my feet wet with the new lot tool.
As far as the NPC buildings go, I had the same problem while testing out the lot placement tool on a friends player owned town. he told me because it was a holdfast that I could only place 1 NPC building. I found that a bit frustrating, but have not found anything else to go against that. Will let you know here if I do. Any other questions?
