I popped into QA and started playing around with the player owned town editor... I'm told that at one point all the player owned towns on the QA map were named "Dawn's Keep." I wish I had been in early enough to witness that and take a screen shot.

    A few things:
    1. A finer control mechanism for small incremental changes in lot position, both rotational and lateral would be very helpful. The current controls are adequate, but fiddly, and sensitive. It takes quite a bit of nudging back and forth to get things in position.
    2. In conjunction with the above, it would be nice to have some sort of 'snap to' N/S/E/W orientation.
    3. It would also be very nice to have a 'snap to' adjacent, already placed lot(s) function.
    4. It would be nice to be able to highlight the flat, buildable areas on the map.
    5. Lastly, it would be very nice to be able to zoom out, or get a 'screenshot' of the whole scene, with lots highlighted for both planning, and map-making.
Even without any of the above, the editor seems to be functional and useful.

    All great suggestions!

The potential for this tool is huge.

The Q and E and quarter turn with the control key seems to function as if placing objects on a property. Not sure if the 90 degree turn control is necessary, unless you use Shift or something.

Glad I got to evict that guy. What an idiot!

Tricky placing water lots. No success yet.

When you unclaim a lot the trees come back but the grass does not.
You can effectively mow the lawn around a lot.

You can sneak lots into some beautiful locations between gorgeous trees.

But you need to live with an Ent in your house.

Seems like having an overhead view of what you're doing would be almost mandatory to build a town. I'd rather imagine it will be coming.

As well it would be good if we could choose the default entrance point for the PoT.
If you place a Holdfast on those large templates you will have quite some way to go untill you reach the habitable part (depending on where you place your lots of course).

    Edit:
It would as well be good if i exit Drakenhof that i don't appear on PaxLair ^^

It would be helpful if all potential lot boundaries would glow white when you take a lot marker out of your backpack so you have a hint as to where a lot can go.

I'm not a POT owner but would it be good instead of the lot being level that only so long as there was enough level in the center to place the maximum size house on that lot?
It IS up to the town owner to not put lot in middle of street but could be on side of hill.

    Future Addition:

Yeah a Lots Highlighted/Lit Toggle would be nice so we can zoom out and see it all placed, and where more lots can go. I know we can just pull out a lot but then it's hard to turn and mouse-look and such.

The problem with pulling out is that you will probbaly stay where you want to place the lot (that happens even with row lots a lot) and by that can't place it.
So yes, a overhead view would be brilliant. Ot just a way to zoom out more ^^

    Agree on all points.
The tool is definitely worth having, and if left as-is, folks will manage.
But being able to zoom out far enough to see all edges of the plot would be my pick for most important improvement.
Thank goodness I have a Holdfast, with few plots to place.

and also perhaps be able to place your house within your lot. so you can make a little more room for a front or backyard.

Placing a city lot on the PaxLair island is something this squirrel cannot do.

    It's fuss traiting! :)

i've seen, and had a few ideas - most of which are asking for a The Sims like interface for lot placement in the PoTs. personally i think that would be a wonderful thing, where you have a top-down view much like sims or older ultimas :)

i've had zero luck in my pot placing lots, is this only usable on the qa server right now?
