I just wanted to let you know that I found the pumpkin harvesting to be working and saw the new Pumpkin Trophies dropping. I have a lot with 1309 planting spots. All were planted with pumpkin seeds, and all were watered all four times. I always harvest using the "Harvest Plants" AOE skill, although I do harvest a few that I miss individually. - I harvested 5237 pumpkins, which was on the high side of normal (I average 5180 to 5240). - I also got 65 pumpkin seeds, which was on the high side of normal (I average 59 to 70). - And I also got 15 Pumpkin Trophies, which works out to a 1.15% rate per planted seed. So pumpkin farming appears to be unaffected. And the Pumpkin Trophy feature is working at a rate that is a decent version of "low". Overall, a great new feature and a nice surprise! Thanks!
Thank you for the extensive test! Expect some dev and community contests in the future Just a hint -- they grow better in the fall A little secret that Bzus revealed in chat the other day. How large a pumpkin did you get so far?
At what point is the pumpkin loot determined? - When you plant them? - When they mature? - When you harvest them?
First crop of 500: Ten trophy pumpkins ranging from 0.38 up to 1.8 ambiguous units. Second crop of 500: Fifteen trophy pumpkins ranging from 0.38 up to a 2.85 ambiguous units.
Nice to hear this feature finally got into the game. As always I would like to see more details for all of our systems in this game. Things that make them fun, interesting, challenging, give choices, and rewarding us of course. Thanks for continuing to improve what we have. Also please mention we need more recipes to include use of alcohols to have brewing more even more viable. We get buff after buff which is fine but cooking and potion making could be effected by alcohol included in more recipes. Also I still would like some masterworking options for cooking and we need levels to matter.
Here's another data contribution. I planted 3,848 planting spots (2 town lots and 2 city lots) with pumpkins in September, 601 PC. I planted the pumpkins outdoors, not in greenhouses. (I wonder if planting in greenhouses vs outdoors makes a difference in the trophy sizes?) I watered all the pumpkins all four times. I harvested one town lot on October 25, 601 PC. I harvested the other lots on November 2 and 3, 601 PC. I received: - 180 Pumpkin Plant Seed - 15,407 Pumpkin - 113 Pumpkin Trophy with these sizes: 0.37 x8 0.38 x4 0.39 x4 0.4 x3 0.41 x5 0.42 x3 0.43 0.45 x2 0.47 x2 0.49 x2 0.5 0.51 x2 0.52 x2 0.53 x2 0.54 x2 0.55 0.56 x2 0.57 x2 0.59 0.61 0.63 x4 0.64 0.65 0.68 0.7 0.71 0.72 0.76 0.78 0.8 0.82 0.83 0.87 0.88 0.89 0.9 0.92 x2 0.98 1.01 1.02 1.05 x2 1.06 1.07 1.08 1.14 1.17 1.18 1.19 1.29 1.32 1.33 1.37 1.38 1.42 1.43 x3 1.48 1.5 1.51 1.52 1.56 1.66 1.7 1.76 x2 1.78 x2 1.85 1.87 1.94 x2 1.96 x2 2 2.02 2.03 x2 ---------- Also, here is a great resource that I use all the time when planting crops: SotA Lore - Farming Planner https://www.sotalore.com/farming
Whoever thought of ag trophies is a genius. Would be fun to have a lot more of it so that we can start a county fair.
Ultimate test has been completed: Pumpkins planted: 14,590 Fully watered: Check Pumpkins harvested: 58,241 Seeds returned: 720 Trophy Pumpkins Gained: 451 Smallest Size: 0.37 Largest Size: 3.63 Interestingly the trophy pumpkins have a value of 10 (vendor for 8) as apposed to the usual value of 3. The scaling does seem to a be a little off. When its smaller than size 1 you can barely see the difference. Size 3 looks a lot bigger than 3 times the size... hrm...anyone buying orange dye? Edit: Also as a side note, any chance we can get the trophies sorted by size in the inventory? Having to mouse over every single one is a pain.
I wish trophy items added a weight value that scales with the length that way sorting in the inventory would be easy.
We're working with really limited sample sizes here. I would hesitate to even attempt a regression analysis until I have at least data on 10k pumpkins and the conditions in which they were grown (e.g. month/season in game).
Sorry, I am already preparing for a significant fishing bait analysis to finally put that debate to rest. I think it would take me a year to sell 10k worth of pumpkin trophies and the soup from all the no trophies needed to make the 10k trophy pumpkins.
