Relationships and sex in SotA

Absolutely, there is no way in hell I would let any children play this game, the number of people calling for abusive play styles to be supported would stop that dead

That doesn't make it any less ridiculous. I avoid most PvP threads for a good reason.

 

Except there's a huge difference between scripted events with NPCs (assuming there are any) and multi-player features which are NOT part of the story.

 

This entire thread demonstrates why sex should NOT be in the game.

 

Both sides of this seriously need to drop it. A game forum isn't the place.

 

Yes actually, other races is nice but does a compelling story need them? well no actually most stories don't feature elves at all, only a small fragment of the market labeled "fantasy" and even then only a segment of that. How many feature sex and relationships?

Well actually almost all of them, action stories revolve around revenge for a wrong done like killing or kidnapping a wife to trying to win a girl (mostly, not many are told from the women's perspective), comedies revolve around how sexual and relationships can go wrong, Romance is romance, Fantasy stories are built around relationships, even children's kids stories don't neglect relationships and sexuality, after all what was the little mermaid all about?. Even war stories end up being mostly love stories because love and sex are the most compelling motivators humans have. After all none of us would be here without them

 

The Little Mermaid wasn't a porn show. Least not that I'm aware of. You don't have to show explicit detail for an audience to know what's going on. You certainly don't need it in a game like this.

 

Here's a radical thought for you then, DON'T PARTICIPATE IN IT THEN. I don't want to PvP so it shouldn't be in the game, is that a logical or rational argument? Should that be followed just because I don't want to PvP no one should?

 

Cant people just state there opinions without being judged? Say what you think on the topic and leave your personal morality/bias aside and let the mods/devs sort it please!

 

I will never be able to change you NOR would I want to. It isn't my place to change someone.

If I cannot change someone then what good does it do to judge someone? Do you or I have the moral high ground?

I suspect that SotA will deal with moral dilemmas just like this.

Self-righteous judgment of others, and self condemnation is one of the biggest traps of living under a strict moral code. When we have the written code we stop living, and begin doing the stuff we think we are supposed to do rather than livimg from the heart.

There will always be insane people, but the worst insanity is disguised by legalism. Watch the 9/11 videos again. Those people had so much hate in them because of their ideology that they killed themselves and thousands of others because of hate. The same type of thimgs have been done in the name of Christianity when people and nations broke off from the Catholic church around the 1500s for quite a while. Both sides burned people alive for heresy.

The freedom of religion and separation of church and state came about because of this. It isn't just so that the government can't mess with your religion, but also to keep religion from taking over the government.

... However that ought to go for all moral elitism not just the formal religions for it to be effective...

I hate in shows like game of thrones they find it needed to have T AND A as a prop.
Which is a shame because I love the plot.

I feel the same about games as I do shows.

I don't watch shows like that so I can get a cheap thrill. Personally I think it is distasteful and brings shows into the gutter.

I like the old black and white movies where the directors cut away and let you use your own imagination, and that way makes it
a show everyone can watch together. No matter the age or level of persons acceptance.

I don't see why jerks need to shove there sexual preferences down everyone else s throats either.
Sorry I don't need to know that about someone, and I can be friends with people of any type until they start
pushing either there religious theory's or sexual theories to me over and over.

For me there is something wrong with people like that, it is like there completely out of balance.

I prefer my games respectful to all people. Just my 2 cents.

 

I believe in the game of thrones they are trying to stay as close to the book storyline as possible, that might be one of the reasons its in there.
