Not sure if I should like the post... but I support the idea. The forum has become a fangirl fest a long time ago. But I blame the moderation for it.

I'm on the Like side instead of the Dark.

I feel good being able to agree or participate in something, if a post made my day or allowed me to laugh out loud etc, just with a simple "Like".

Sometimes, there is not enough time to write on public transport or I could be at work, so boom... "Like" becomes a fun tool for me to bookmark before I come home to write or comment more on the said topic.

I do find it funny, that we are here to enjoy a game of good and bad Karma, but some players don't actually want to be judged by their Karma by a public offering of Karma bestowing tool, which the "like" button is.

We still need the data to be sure, guys n gals! Don't think I don't love you though! Because I do!!

You'd be right in saying that there should be a dislike button if there is a like button. That's totally fair. But as I expressed earlier, buttons are misleading and give players a reason NOT to post the reasons behind them which makes for some pretty bad data!

Believe it or not there's already a Xenforo add-on for that too. 45 seconds and BAM you have the ability to mark threads as unread without needing to use the like button as a reminder.

Good constructive feedback at it's finest, as usual, pike!

I would suggest we create a sub forum for
    "Forum Management Suggestions"

It seems the demand for it has expontually risen over the last days.

We have 2 threads that fit there already

    1. A suggestion for a negative SubForum
    2. A suggestion to remove "Likes"

Remark: If you find a spelling error in my post please do not be ovended. I am not from a native english söeaking country.

I'm not sure what this would achieve. What data would be collected and what would we see? All we would see is no likes on posts.

There have been a couple of posts lately where people seem to want to hide the fact that some players have issues with the game, the idea of relegating peoples concerns to a sub forum out of the way for one. This seems another attempt to hide the fact that some players are not happy with the current game state.

The thing to do here if likes are such an issue for someone is just ignore it or maybe add a forum option for people to turn it off individually.

You speak of some hidden majority that only you represent aye o_O?'....
"Who is we and what data do you refer to"?'... and where would that, whatever, "data" go when it's taken away from our view ?'... and what would that data, then be used for, other than to attempt to control us o_O?'
How do you accomplish this? By wishing to take away our freedom, seems like a "good" idea to you o_O?'...

Some need only read the thread. The answers thou seekth are within. I'm not saying likes are bad or good. I'm only saying we should always gather information instead of acting on biased opinions. Until we try it we'll never really know how it will work out, that's the data I'm talking about. It's not 0's and 1's.

The road ahead is certainly a long one, and the sights we see will reflect on the decisions we make, AND when we pull over and look back, I hope we'll be able to smile!

Those who fear change need only understand that change need never be permanent in the universe of MMO.

How about a monthly Community Voting System.

There we can suggest Community Members that are to negative in the posting and that may harm the future of the Game.
We vote who is the most harmful.

The one who gets the highest vote form us the Community gets a 1 month ban.
And we free the Forum Managment of the hassle of getting targetet. It was a community decision.

And all the ones who did "like" a negative "comment" of that banned person get a warning.
This will give them a Heads Up that they supportet someone who is destructive for the positive outcome of the Game and the impression of a Good Community.

This way we make sure new Users are not confronted with this negativity .

So maybe we leave the likes - so we can detect better the ones who support the wrong people?

But only those who dislike the person are allowed to vote!
And those who pay a lot of money for the game are allowed to vote twice!

    ;)

    Hugs @Lord_Darkmoon

Hugs are far cooler then "Likes". Lets implend a "Hug" System. They are socially still far more accepted as "Likes"

Hopeless conjecturing aside, *somehow* constructive and on-topic as it may be, I'll ask that we please let our focus for this discussion be based on the merit of supporting our opinions with factual information and proper information gathering.

    Thanx in advance.

I agree with OP , but I would not remove the like button, I would just make that info only visible to Dev Team and The one who received the Like.
That way we can express our likes. There is no need to make them public, other than make some peoples EGO go up.
