Revised (estimated) delivery date

    Everyone knows by now that we are quite far beyond the original estimated delivery date. This is fully understandable, especially considering the extra scope that has been added to the project over the past 3 years.

    However, the devs have gone on record multiple times, even recently, expressing their intent to deliver episode one by the end of this year.

    It doesn't take a genius to realize this is a near impossible goal.

    What would be cool is for Dallas (or Starr, or Richard, or...) to take a good look at the progress, and the systems and content that still needs to be created, and push out a new and (dare I say) more realistic roadmap to release. This would help to not only curb expectations, but also allay fears of the release of an unfinished product.


    Cue some diehard fans saying "When its done" in 3...2...

    I guess I am not a person who is in the know of how these things work. I would like a defined date of course. I will not be upset however if it gets pushed back in order to have a better game. This will probably be my last game I play and I pray that it is released sometime around the new year but again, its not the end of the world if it isnt.

    Ceteris paribus, I think they have a good shot at making a 2018 release. :p

    I have no doubt that it will be pushed back from the end of this year. But looking at the progress that has been made, the features that exist and don't exist, and the amount of content that needs to be created - at this point, someone inside portalarium should be able to extrapolate a relatively accurate timetable, even if it is ballpark.

    This is a honest question that should be answered. For one, it will allow us to give realistic ideas of what can be added before release.

    guys there looken at march if there are no problems they just add like 6 people to there crew, and they may add more, they just hope they can do it, i hate problems

    There is a medium sized city in Calif thru which run a couple of main arteries. I have lived south of the city for the last 40 years. The highway has had signs on it for all of those forty years defining the project, and estimated completion date which is usually about 15 months away. The project definition has changed about 30 times in the 40 years, but the completion date is still 15 months from now. Its like a certain tunnel I know but worse. I don't even know why I offered this, but I have a max 10 years more I can wait till I have to leave the game to my heirs. Hopefully we get to Episode 1 in time.

    I think he's just presuming March is launch because they've updated their Upcoming Events page to show all the way up to R27 in end of February:

    But as with all things, everything is wild speculation until you hear it officially from the devs.

    Did'nt Richard say they are planning releases basically forever even after launch? I think he said that in the last telethon. I am just to lazy right now to find it lol.

    He also said it on the interview with Laz i believe. I was really happy to hear it because of how much I am wanting in the game to start at launch. Anyway it has always said the game won't be released until we say it is ready. It is possible to be delayed. Perhaps tomorrow in the hangout someone will ask the question.;)

    Like a lot of us (all of us ?) i want to know an updated estimated release date. It's frustrating not to know, and honestly I would be a bit disappointed to learn that the game is delayed to march, april, may,... 2016, even it's still better than having a game that is not really finished.

    The schedule of the "upcoming events" is not encouraging. Perhaps we will know more after Hangout of the avatar.

    I hope they give up on the idea of Episode 1 by the end of the year. Don't force it, just keep up the good work and we'll be happy.

    Yeah... looking at all that has yet to be done, and the complete revamping of some systems that now need to go through the balance wringer again, I hold by my June of 2016 projection :p
