That would be nice. Crafting a stone divider, then crafting a stone divider with a mechanism. But if you want a cheap version that works right now, albeit not as cool though, then you can do like Melchiormeijer points out and place a banner low on the second floor to hang it in front of a door. =)
Brilian idea and very nice way to apply it Spoon (meaning the stone divider concept, which could work as a furniture )! Secret passages are a must.
I'm all for providing the players with the ability to aid the crafting economy when possible. Let's protect our SotA Crafters from those cheap imports by the devs...
Craft em, build em, purchase em, conjure em, fashion em, forge em, evoke em, arouse em, erect em, let's do it!
If you create the ability to make hidden passages you know my house will become a player maze, right? For 10g I'll let you into my house to try and find your way through it, and might even have a reward waiting if you can figure it out
Now this is taking it to a whole new level!!! Sounds similar to an underground city idea I think I read somewhere in these forums. Sounds interesting.
Good topic. Secret passages are cool. Hoping to find plenty of them in game (tavern to sewer, castle to hidden dungeon, graveyard to subterranean cavern type passages). Perhaps passages in houses could be an offshoot of player house basements offered in the add-in store. Could these be small basement adds ons have a secret door, passage, and then a room or rooms and be placeable in basements?
That is a marvelous idea. Connecting a mechanism to a basement instead of the hatch. Just as long as it doesn't work like a one way trapdoor.... 80
Yes! I want to see my fireplace open into a secret room. I want a tile on the floor to open up to a slide and take me to a secret chamber. I want a book on the bookshelf to move and open a wall. Speaking of secret passages...How about secret dungeon/scary areas like some haunted houses I've seen
Too bad the homes were not originally designed for such things. Or were they? Some of the homes have odd uses of space.
Im all for this... Better yet, there should be a way to make your own personal tunnel system. Almost like dig dug or red faction! Or even minecraft. Except... there would need to be a certain amount of limitations to it to make the game practical and well balanced. Could be a good way to sneak back into your house in a city if you happen to be flagged criminal or if the town is under seige. Could have some really neat story and quest based applications. Just dont dig too deep or you will meet all the creatures that live in the earths core. You might even go the wrong direction digging your way out of prison and hit the base of an ocean or something and drown.
