Cant figure out how to get Supple leather, it seems I'm lacking "leather", leather is not the same as animal hide?
So I go to SotAwiki but the recipes I found there are not working for me.

SirStile crafting recipes are outdated too.
So I place Animal hide, salt, wax, tanning knife on the crafting tool but nothing happens, what am I doing wrong?
Anyone was able to get hardened or supple leather?

There was quite a few changes that came into R12. I havn't had a chance to get into crafting yet, but I'll try to get as much as I can this weekend. If anyone wants to help with recipe changes, just post them and I'll get the wiki updated as soon as I can!

Many of the crafting recipes were changed this release. For example there are multiple types of wood, ore, etc. you can make many different kinds of armor that combine ore, wood, or cotton. As a result many recipes have changed or will be missing as the sites get caught up.

FYI, there isn't a need to rely on the wikis right now. All the recipes are available for purchase from Norman, the shopkeeper in he store behind Myra in Owl's Head.

Speaking of updating, anyone know how to make Cloth Straps? That recipe is not purchasable that I've seen

Yeah, they really changed things around...looks like we've got a ton of work to do to update recipes! It also looks very incomplete too, especially with the introduction of the resource variants.

Yes, they added and subtracted many mats from things in this release. I just had to sit down and redo the whole spreadsheet this weekend. I'm kinda glad they added the ability to buy receipes, for updating purposes...but is that how it's going to be in game now?

From what we have heard so far, some recipes will be purchasable from vendors, but not all. Some can be learned through trial and error, but not all. Some will only come from being taught, although whether that is from another PC or from a NPC quest has not yet been revealed.

For testing, being able to buy recipes is fine. I'm not thrilled about the price; I could have had a house with what I've spent on recipes, but at least I can get in and test crafting now.
